I will never understand the Denzel Nkemdiche hype. He was 1st team All-SEC this preseason for some absurd reason, and now he makes 2nd team.

I know he was hurt some, but my God... The guy had a grand total of 34 tackles, only two TFLs, and ZERO sacks. He was a non-factor all season.

Meanwhile, B. Mac had 70 tackles, 6 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. Not to mention he was the QB for our defense.
Un-****ing-believable.

No mention of Kimdichee or Paidwell? This list is garbage.

Completely agree about Denzel, he isn't a bad player, but McKinney is head and shoulder better than him.

Oh, no doubt Denzel is a solid player who fits the UM scheme perfectly.

That being said, is he one of the five or ten best LBs in the SEC? Hell no.

Most of them wear Maroon and White

Mason over manziel for OPOTY is nothing but manziel-fatigue. What garbage. Mason has a great year and a ridiculous SEC CG, but a lot more RBs put up similar numbers to mason than QBs put up similar numbers to manziel.

What a garbage list all around. I agree MBSH, I said it when the pre season stuff came out...Denzel Nkemdiche should be nowhere near this list. If they aren't basing it on the numbers, what the **** are they basing it on? Not wanting to be so terribly wrong on their preseason predictions? Whose teams had better records? What? This list is just pure speculation and opinion, and means nothing because you can tell there was no thought put in to the process at all.

McKinney is a freaking Sophomore doing the things he is doing, and he gets no love from anyone. Even Robert Knemdiche got more love from the AP before he had played a down in college than BMac received after a stellar freshman year. This shit pisses me off. Why even make these lists if they aren't going to actually research beyond name recognition to make their selections?

It reminds me of the MLB all star fan voting. You could throw Cal Ripken on the ballot right now and he would probably be voted in as the starting SS for the American League. Why? Because the votes were placed by a "who have I heard mentioned the most on TV" mindset.

What were denzel's stats compared to Mckinney's? Too lazy to look them up

This is actually comical..
DN has ZERO business being on there. Hurt or not.
Engram's numbers weren't as good as Malcom. Doesn't matter that he got hurt and what his numbers might have been.
Tunsil being 2nd team is a joke as well...
And no way Pruitt is 1st team ahead of both Ha Ha and Collins.. I will give him 2nd team..
And B Mac not at least getting Honorable mention is a joke..

Nice Job AP.. way to lose the rest of what little cred you had..

Being hurt should hurt you, not help you.

Can we "pretend" Dak played all season health, and use those stats?

The OM media hype really is disgusting. I mean, come on, 3 GUYS on the 1st and 2nd team SEC defense and we get NONE yet we finish ahead of them in total defense and tied in scoring defense. DK being on there yet no McKinney is a total joke.

The only thing I had to see on this list to know it is BS is that Clowney made 1st team with his GRAND TOTAL OF 3 SACKS. What a joke. This list is 80% hype and 20% stats on the field. Outside of Gabe, and Chris Jones making the list over Kimdashian, this list is 90% garbage. How in the blue hell does Tunsil make 2nd-Team when he was getting eaten alive throughout SEC play this year???? And Engram with his 7 games played, WTH? I could go on but I'll stop. Ridiculous.

Bryant and Denzel play the same freaking position. So splitting time, they both earned the honor. A joke is the only word for it.

I watched every OM game that I could, and Denzel was practically invisible. Bryant did make some plays.

Denzel did absolutely nothing all season to earn being on the All-SEC team- the only noteworthy play he made all year was recovering a fumble against AU.

Bryant and Prewitt quietly had really good seasons and deserved their spots (although I would've put Prewitt behind Clinton-Dix).
