Congrats to my guy @FletcherAdams43 he just got an offer from Bama

I am almost embarrassed to that I didn't include Fletcher Adams as one of the top players still left on the board in my "Thoughts on Cameron Myers and the 2015 recruiting class" post.

Fletcher is the brother of our excellent up and coming freshman DT Nelson Adams, and he plays at Brandon. With his brother on our team, playing, having some success, and Fletcher knowing and having hung out with most of our players, I feel pretty confident in saying that we are in very very good shape to get this guy.

He is currently a 4 star recruit, and I've never seen him play but, with these offers piling up, I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a 5 star at some point.

In any event, I should included him on my list, and am even more excited about what the 2015 class could become.

Yea, Fletcher would be a Big Big get for us. Let's be honest...this is the type of player we need to be able to lock up.

Yep, but think people are going to have be patient with this guy though. Earlier this year he made this tweet:

I don't know why everybody is a 100% sure I'm going to Mississippi State right now. I'm in no hurry to make a decision

I feel really good about getting this guy, as overwhelmingly, for family reasons, family travel purposes, etc. kids usually go to the same school as their brother when the brother will still be on the team when the new player arrives.

However, like many 17 year olds, Fletcher will want to show people that he is a man and is capable of making his own decision, which will likely make this drag out for a while just like it did for Channing Ward and Kemdechee.

Furthermore, I fully respect and understand why Fletcher wants to do this. IMO, I don't want kids at State that are here for the wrong reasons. I would rather Fletcher take his time, take some visits, and then commit to MSU with full understanding that MSU is where he wants to be.

I say this because I don't want people to freak out when this player isn't in the boat by the end of the summer.

We've done a really good job recently with guys who were thought to be ours from the beginning. We've closed the deal on just about all of them. I would expect Adams to commit fairly early in the process.

I hope so as well, but, like my post said, don't get discouraged or think it's a sign that he doesn't like us if he doesn't commit early. Different factors involved than the normal recruit.

I agree with everything you posted, and I won't really change my mind on where I think Adams will land if he's still not committed when his season starts...just saying that I think he will.

Everybody wants to push back when you get the sense that everyone else already thinks they know who you are or what you're going to do; nobody wants to feel like they're being taken for granted.

But at the end of the day, I can't see him spurning his brother and State.

I think being able to play with big brother Nelson is going to be a huge plus for us. We almost landed his oldest brother a few years ago and Nelson is having a good experience at MSU, so we should be able to take care of business on this front.

It's not like the Alonzo Lawrence and Co-Eric Riley situation a few years back where Riley wasn't happy and didn't do anything to help us get his brother.

I would guess that he'll do the summer camp circuit to see different schools and for the experience, but in the end he'll be a bulldog.

I would not be chalking Fletcher up as a bulldog so quickly. He went to Tuscaloosa a good bit this fall, and he has a good time everytime he heads that way. We need to hope that Nelson can influence his brother's decision to MSU.

Dang, I didn't know that about Brown.. I sure hope they're close and Artimas is saying good things about State.
