Yeah, we are probably hitting the road. Couldn't overcome the poor non conference schedule and performance. Truthfully, we don't deserve to host. Don't get me wrong, we can beat anyone, but we didn't do enough to host.

Ok so why were the goal posts moved over the past 3 weeks? At first it was don?t get swept at Arkansas and win the series against Mizzou then it was, well win 1 in the SEC tournament then it was win against A&M. Now it went to well, you need to beat TN to host. At some point the goal posts were just going to keep moving and there was nothing we could do to host. Why did they keep pushing that line?

That's bullshit. We have what? 16 Q1 wins? Our KPI is like 12. Literally the only metric that looks "bad" is RPI but everything else is good.

Wasn't Auburn a host last year at #29?

I have a feeling we're going to get the nod, especially since ECU and ISU lost today.

But the RPI formula is beyond ****ed.

A 25 RPI out of the SEC is not good Todd.

No. Auburn's was 19 on selection day.

We played 4 games this week against competition from the best conference in collegiate baseball, won 2 of those 4 and our RPI fell 2 spots.

Yes. It's extremely flawed and quite comical at times.

Great question. The goal posts moved almost daily it seemed.

Here's what gives RPI no credibility.
Within our current Q4 loses we have:

1 to Air Force - who went 27-28 - but went 18-12 in conference and won the Mountain West season title. They had #4 OOC RPI in the country. Only the MWC tourney winner gets a bid, and AF got knocked out in the semis.

2 to Austin Peay - who went 35-21 and won the ASUN regular season title - but only the ASUN tourney winner gets in. AP got knocked out in their pool by Central Arkansas - who definitely is our worst Q4 loss.

Don't get me started on why tournaments mean more than regular season championships - but regardless, those are two teams that can make arguments for making the NCAAs. And yet, RPI doesn't reflect that at all.

I assume NC State sweeping Wake last weekend of the season and Duke winning the ACC tournament made them jump ahead of us.

They have us as a host now so there's that. We are the 16th seed and according to d1 and hour ago.

Our projected regional:

State
Usm
Nicholls
Tulane

If this truly ends up happening can Geautreau just jump right on into the Tulane dugout at the start of the game?

Hopefully we get the 14 or 15 if we host. I would love to dodge UT.

Some people said we needed to win out and those people got called crazy. Seems they were correct all along.

"Build It and They Will Come" (The Dude). Not when you have 5 Quad 4 losses there (Were any neutral site games?). The "Carnegie Hall of Baseball" now sits empty in June for 3 consecutive years after a NC. Actually though, I didn't expect Lemonis & this team to even make a regional so a big improvement, but losing to so many OOC teams doomed us to host.
