I would fully expect an announcement before the beginning of next season that it will be his last. I still don't think Ole Miss fans realize how important Bianco has been for them. They were nothing before him. 7 TOTAL tournament appearances before Bianco. He had 18. So he has 18 of their 25 total tournament appearances.

Hopefully they hire the 2021 ABCA Assistant Coach of the Year to help Liam Doyle and their pitching staff improve.

He's not old. If he finds his Parker, he could be there another 4-5 years

I think they're going to have a hard time replacing him.

say what you want...bianco is not a bad guy. and he's the epitome of a "baseball guy" that some on here pretend to be. he's a great speaker and teacher and if you are ever around him when he's talking ball it is interesting and entertaining. i'm happy he's getting to go out on his own terms. he's earned that right.

all that said...i am really glad we are not in their spot. yes, he's earned the right based on what he has turned ole miss baseball into during his tenure. but with the competitiveness of the league nowadays they are falling behind. of course...just like us, with one good portal haul they could be back to the middle of the pack.

He's their Ron Polk and he's in Polk 2 territory right now.

I agree, he's not the prototypical om coach, player or student. He's just a guy who loves baseball and loves to coach and that's where he wound up. He's a really personable guy. My youngest son worked with one his pitchers 2 years ago and helped the kid fix his delivery and command. Bianco and Lafferty actually called and thanked him and they sent him one of the big team parka jackets as a thank you. Now we're all State people and my son has never worn the thing(and won't) but i thought it was a really nice gesture by Mike. My kid talks with Lafferty pretty frequently. We hate om but I don't have anything against Bianco or Laffety other than they're at om, lol.
