Now I will say- Chance has exceeded my expectations. He has been a solid college hitter in 24.

Don?t remember.
But he?s the most clutch player we?ve had since Allen or before.
He?s been clutch for a month plus. Confused at some of our approaches/decisions/swings?.need someone more experienced to analyze, like commerce24.

Commerce will tell you the same- hitting a baseball is tough. Some guys pick up spin others don't. Some guys thrive on tough situations some clench up. It's funny how when we pitch well it was all our pitcher but never there hitter sucked. Works both ways. Sometimes you face agitated dealing. It's hard

Couldn't have said it better myself and agree with everything you said! Hitting is the hardest thing to do in sports. Those guys on that mound 60 feet 6 inches away don't want you to hit it and even the worst pitcher can shut down any team on any given day. History is littered with no name pitchers who shut down teams in post season play. Heck even Jay Hook who was considered arguably the worst pitcher in mlb history won games and even threw shutouts. I've watched teams take guys who were throwing pure gas and I've watched teams get completely shutdown by guys who couldn't break a windowpane. That clutch gene is special. Some have it and some don't. Great post Homie!

Thanks DD. I knew from studying Hujsak and talking to folks who knew him before he transferred he would do good things as a bulldog. He should've been playing more last year and I stated it more than once. Every time he played he produced. The guy never pouted and was always ready to play. Could've transferred after last year but stuck it out and thank heavens he did. He's also a real leader on this team. He's one of those glue guys

If that had been an MLB game in post season it would have been considered as great as the 1991 Braves-Twins Game 7. You just don't see two pitchers at the top of their skills very often, and frankly it's a joy to watch. Yeah, I love winning 10-0 - but beating your rival in a game like that one is extra sweet.

It is frustrating that Lemonis did not utilize Hujsak last year more than he did.

Well where would you have played him? I mean DH was either Hines or Hancock, LF was Jordan, CF was Ledbetter, and RF was Clark. I mean maybe you could've tried him at 3B but for all of Slate's in the field deficiencies, his bat was good.

Stat on SEC Network said that ball had an exit velocity of over 109. Woah!

100%! I loved watching that pitching matchup and it did look like Smoltz vs. Morris all over again. Classic pitching duel! I know everyone hates on the hitters but you gotta tip your hat to the pitchers in a game like this. They were both locked in and dealing and to me its more fun to watch than gorilla ball!
ETA No one is ever on the edge of their seat on every pitch in a game thats 10-8 but in a game like this one you live and die with every pitch because one mistake could win or lose it.

It was no doubt off the bat. It reminded me of the Mac HR in the way that when it left the bat I knew it was gone. There's obviously always a worry because it's a big ballpark, but it just sounded different. I'll also say that even though I crap on Jordan, he hit one in the 5th or 6th that is out of all but 2 ballparks in college baseball: The Hoover Met and in Omaha.

My only concern when it was hit that he hit it with to flat an angle but that ball was absolutely destroyed. It was a laser. Yeah that ball Jordan hit was smoked too, but the Met is huge!
