Got a $1M pay raise up to $4.2M plus incentives. Well deserved and it's good to see us fork it up financially and show commitment.
He's my favorite coach on campus.

I think he feels good about what he is bringing in via the transfer portal. I heard that Paymon still hasn?t signed even though he still plans too. I wonder if it is an academic issue?

Seeing us pony up and pay is awesome. On the other hand, do you guys think we are overpaying Lebby since he has never been a HC?

I’m not real sold on Lebby like most on this board but Jans is the real deal and deserves every penny of it. He will get us to the final 4 if we stay patient

He will never get us to the final 4 until he hires an offensive minded assistant. Recruiting has to be good to real good consistently. Of course, I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see it.

The two knocks on Jans was his offense and recruiting. He seems to be doing a pretty good job in the recruiting department this off season, lets see how the offense looks this year, he will have a new Associate head coach who may help there.

I’m not sure how much less we could have actually paid Lebby. I think he will do fine and he’s worked his butt off, but I also think if he succeeds quickly the money may be ROLLING in. Winning will do that

Did we overpay Lebby? Probably, but be honest, we had to overpay. We had to get this hire right and if you have to overpay by 1 mil or so then so be it.
Did we overpay Jans? Hell he's probably worth a couple mil more. He's taken a team that had no business sniffing an NCAA tournament to back to back tourneys. He also has multiple top 5 wins in just two years. Our last 3 coaches combined don't have as many as he's had in 2 years.

Has he hired an assistant yet?

We need a 5. And the roster is kind of weird. He has added some scorers but curious to see how it comes together.

We will never be where we want to be as a team until we improve our FT%. Hopefully that was part of the incentives.

To my knowledge, not yet. His top Assistant went to Oklahoma State and I'm pretty sure that position is still open.

I agree, the roster has a different look to it but we have 3 guys who can play the 5 for us. We don't necessarily need a scoring 5, just as long as they rebound, block shots, give us 2nd chance points etc. We have enough scoring at other positions that we should be ok
