I guess Dohm will get the start and maybe push him a little further.

I think we can rule out Kohn, Stephen, and Jurrangelo for the start Tuesday. If Dohm starts it would really be a bullpen game because he would not go long. What about Ligon? He was bad his last outing, but I would not be surprised to see him start on Tuesday.

It's a practice game. Do whatever it takes to get ready to win the regional. SEC tournament is meaningless other than prepping for the real tournament.

Obviously, unless you're a bubble team and need some wins to sneak into the tournament.

Either way, we are going to see a lot of pitchers.

Dohm went 1 on Saturday which was basically his bullpen session. I'd start him and try to get 3 out of him. Then it becomes a staff game.

Is Ole Miss starting their Friday guy on 3 days rest?

If it were me- my plan would go Dohm/Auger plus whomever on Tuesday. Purdue on Wed. Jerk on Thur. Pico on Friday. You SP's are only moving up 1 day and they will have over a week before the Regional to get fully charged

It'll be scoreless after 4 after we've already stranded bases loaded 4 times***

I don?t know how Lemonis and Parker handles that situation but I feel like it?s Dohm on one day and Auger the other day. Maybe they go your route but I would not think so.

Need to win 2 to feel good about hosting.

Start Dohm on Tuesday and see how far we can go. If we win, throw Khal vs the Aggies

Dohm on Tuesday (and let him go 5-6 innings instead of only 1 or 2) and Stephens on Wed.
If we don?t play until Thursday or Friday in a regional, Stephens will have over a week to rest before he starts game 1 of regional.

I agree. We can hopefully get about 6 innings out of Dohm and Auger on Tuesday. Then we can go to Hardin and Davis. Might have to use Schuelke as well.

They are hoping to throw Maddox. It would be 4 days rest.

We are playing for a 1 seed and a host. However, I would start Ligon.

State needs to win at least 2. Going 0-1 or 1-2 is not going to get that Host seeding.

So, a lot of folks in this thread have conceded we will not be hosting regardless of if we win 2 games???

I hate it because I want to agree with you, but unfortunately we probably need 1 in the tournament to solidify our hosting spot. 2 would lock it up. We're just in a precarious position where unfortunately, 1 and done may have us on the road for a regional

Not this time.

It's a practice game/s when you are safely entrenched as a national seed.

This team needs every advantage they can get and being at home is one. Therefore, they need a couple of wins in Hoover to hopefully work their way into hosting.

I would say that the best thing is to start Dohm and try to stretch him to 4. At that point, see where you're at. I'd prefer to hold Auger if we could but we can't mess around and lose to OM on Tuesday. We need to win that one because that puts you into double elimination and gives you two chances to get one more.

A practice SECT was in 2021 where State went 0-2 and went to the house. You cannot tell that was not the plan by Lemonis
