So we fix pitching. But now we decide to get lazy with hitting and base running? Make it make sense?

Trying to figure out if we're dumb or lazy or both?

Not executing is a fundamental problem, I think we know where this comes from. Lack of detail and that is a fact.

when D1 players can't execute a run down--then you know something is rotten in Denmark.

I think another problem is we have a little bit of reading our own headlines problem. Everyone has told them all fall and winter how they were going to be this elite offense and they think they can just turn it on whenever they need it. Outside of Jordan, no one can do that.

I don't know about that; I would think it would be more pressure from the coaching staff to prove themselves. If players are listening and getting advice they will be much more from fans and taking all that in, then they are wrong.

It?s a culture problem

That is the problem though. We have a culture issue. I have yelled it from the rooftops for 3 years now. We have a certain sect of fans, middle age males and females, that have a weird obsession with our players. They want to constantly hang out with them, go out to bars with them, and Snapchat with them. These are the people these players are listening to and they constantly tell them how gosh darn amazing they are. I understand if little kids idolize these players and put them on pedestals but we have grown men and women doing it. It is a culture issue that the staff has yet to put a stop to.

"You're either coaching it or allowing it to happen."

This staff has allowed inattention to detail and the fundamentals to become acceptable, and it's ultimately going to be the reason they get let go at the end of this season. Our next coach needs to be a detail oriented guy that stresses the importance of doing the little things right.

Lemonis hasn?t read Baseball Playbook by Ron Polk

Who in the hell said this team was going to be elite in anything?

Players getting felated by middle aged fans doesn't stop Lemonis from running good practices. If it did every professional team would suck at the little stuff.

Whatever strengths Lemonis may have as a coach, he just isn't good at the fundamentals and the little stuff. Staying alert while baserunning. Communicating on fly balls. Forcing the runner back to the prior base in rundowns. We constantly make little league mistakes on stuff that shouldn't even have to be taught at this level, but just reminded and practiced. We out talented USA all night, but they didn't make bushleague mistakes and we did. If Lemonis can't recruit well enough to overcome his coaching and/or he can't hire an assistant to take care of the little things, he won't be our coach for long. I don't think either of those are likely because we're not going to have the funds available to do either.

Maybe nothing got fixed. You have new pitchers. With the exception of a few who have another season of experience.

Hitters.... Larry, Mershon and Jordan have improved. The rest aren't that talented.

Seeing Jake and Cheese drunk at the Egg Bowl in 2021 in public told me all I needed to know about this staff outside of Parker obviously. They?re immature and honestly aren?t great coaches. I don?t know why Jake has gotten the pass from fans he has over the years when hitters have not developed at all. The guys who won our championship were developed by Cann.it says something to me when Alford, Forsythe, Hatcher, and Kyte McDonald all are hitting better than here.

I?ll add: Lemo and Co spend too much time watching just one game of PG tournaments. There is no reason we shouldn?t have the Maza or Moinsetere kids at USM. We brought in Jess Davis and ran off Kyte and got what production out of it? The transfers brought in over last two years have been head scratchers. Guy can not evaluate.
