Was thinking today how much this University needs the basketball team to finish strong and have a good showing in the NCAAT. It has been a rough year so far with Football (Leach passing) and looking like baseball will continue to struggle. Plus the whole situation with NIL just has a rain cloud over my MSU sports optimism.

Got me thinking what the worst overall year for the big 3 sports has been. As far as records and post-season success it looks like 2005-2006 school year was pretty rough.

-Football with Croom went 3-8 with a loss to Houston. Averaged 13 points a game (holy s**t).

-Basketball went 15-15 and missed the tourney after going 4 straight years. The future was bright though because Jamont Gordon and Rhodes were Freshmen.

-Baseball went 9-17 in the SEC and lost to Elon and Clemson in regional. Went to CWS the next year so assuming we were young.

What was the worst MSU sports year you have lived through?

This year may be worse even MBK is good bc this is the year we start to realize our baseball program is cooked

Yeah with 05-06 the teams were young and were either coming off good success or were likely to have a good following year. Baseball and Football right now are in total rebuilds and will likely be a while before we see some real success in either.
