If it weren?t for the last two seasons, yesterday wouldn?t worry me much. Bats disappear sometimes. We pitched fine (which is the big concern) and didn?t give away a bunch of runs on errors and walks (while walks killed us at the end, the pitching and defense ultimately did their job and offense let us down). No reason in isolation to think yesterday is who we are.

That said, considering the last two years, I?m assuming this is just more of the same and is about us being poorly coached and finding different ways to lose, just like well coached teams find different ways to win. Hopefully that assumption is wrong but we?ll see.

Just going with it! AF errors have given us a chance to score and we deliver. Hines hits a curve and we get another hit to score 2 this inning. Thanks AF 3rd basemen.

Catcher could have caused serious injury there. He has to move forward in front of the baseline to field that throw. He can't be allowed to stand right in the baserunning line to home plate.

Biggest improvement I see so far. Can’t stand giving games away on walks or hbp like last night.

Guys, last year I was bitching after the first weekend despite the wins, I'm not bitching yet. I didn't bitch really last night. Some games just are like that. Yeah we all saw that Holcombe got lucky to get out of the 8th and we knew when he walked the first batter in the 9th how it would go, but overall we have improved just from this first series to last year's first series. I did not see a shit ton of walks which infuriated me last year. I haven't really begun to bitch yet so I count that as a very positive sign for this team....

Good first series win. The pitching seems much improved. It just crazy how bad Foxhall was. It’s as if he one day woke up and just didn’t care anymore because he was good before 2022 and at all his other stops before us. I am just glad it seems to be corrected

Saturday night was weird. Very much a "that's baseball" game. Add in the fact that we have a lot of new pitchers and we're figuring our team out and it is what it is.

Yes. Nice to see that too. Errors can get in a pitchers head too. Errors happen occasionally but it sucks when you battle your butt off and make a good pitch for a ground ball only to see it wasted time and again last year.

It's been a minute! I'm enjoying watching this pitching! This type pitching will keep us in every game! Heck the last 2 years our pitching was so bad games were out of hand by third or 4th inning and took our offense out of it.

Black looked great today after he settled in. He was to amped on the first hitter but he got filthy after that! His stuff is nasty. Reminds a little of Landon Sims. His fastball was jumping and big time breaking ball!
