I like him too. Seems like a really good young man and may end up being an outstanding QB. Got a ways to go on that just yet tho.

We have guys very much helping out - they just keep it under wraps. Not everyone but some do

Meanwhile... Kiffin trolling OSU for trying to "buy" a championship through the portal/NIL. Lolz. Which is exactly what he's doing.

I would guess Chris Jones is helping. He seems like that kind of guy.

Nice to hear. I wish it were more public to encourage others to join in. We have several guys that could do a donation like stroud's every year. I love to give others' money away haha

With the current system in place we're much better off trying to get huge chunks of money from former MSU players than we are just trying to use alumni and fan money.

I think we have like 39 former players in the NFL. If ten of them have a million apiece imagine what kind of team we could build?

Today more than ever, if you aren't buying a championship then you aren't winning one.

Kiffin is trying to buy another 10 win regular season. It gets him into the playoffs and gives them a chance.

Besides Dak, a million is not exactly chump change to those guys

And now they have Ross Bjork to show them how it's all possible... he's now the AD at Ohio State. I swear this thing called college football is getting harder for guys like me to understand

The percentage of players that give back is ridiculously low.

You aren't going to get 5-10% of a contract per year before taxes. That's just not realistic

What stroud gave seems like a decent target to hit our nfl guys for.

This lists 23 current players in nfl. Obviously some of these guys only have 1 foot in, 1 out, but if we could get an avg of 75k per, that's 1.725 million. That's not earth shattering, but it would certain help us a lot

Yeah, this is reasonable. People that expect these players to give millions need to consider that football is their career and all of their careers will be over soon. Some obviously are more set than others but most are cramming an entire career into a few years.

I usually never pick Ohio State because they usually are overrated and lose to SEC teams. Right now though I am going with them to win it all next year. I think Michigan winning it all this year really lit a fire for them and they are determined to do it by spending as much money as possible

You haven't checked the earnings to date of Cox, Slay, Simmons, Jones and maybe a couple more recently have you. Dak, Jones, and Gay about to sign big deals again. A few months ago I checked a site that showed the $ banked to date by our former players active in the NFL and it was about to surpass 1/2 a billion $. Hail State!

Jones made 25 million this year he's not gonna give us 1.25 or 5%. That's not remotely possible. Plus bi isn't tax deductible. If he didn't his agent should shoot him.

Alabama 73 $1,565,408,003
Ohio State 61 $1,370,617,726
Louisiana State 58 $1,238,536,509
Georgia 56 $909,431,642
Texas A&M 31 $883,284,981
Clemson 41 $880,784,077
Oklahoma 39 $864,664,815

We are 8th nationally as far as $$$ of current NFL contracts go. That's insane considering we recruit #23-28ish every year

Y dak didn't get 66 on top of the 160. The 66 he just got up front. Not that 40 per year avg is bad!!
Also dak has been tagged the previous 2 years and had big pay days those years too.

And, Dakman makes how much off endorsements. I would wager at least $5-6 MM annually. Do not forget about this little sum also when figuring annual income.

Homedawg so do not think C Jones would give 1.25 percent of $25MM being only a tad over $300k to our BI.
Tax write off or not that is spare change for CJ now.
