I do not understand the thinking he will be a good OC. He sucked. He cheated. He got the best players that money could buy. He ran bubble screens then just chunked it deep to those paid receivers. Zero player development. I don't get it.

It'd be a disaster hire for Tennessee PR wise but it'd be a good hire for Pruitt who probably knows about as much about running an offense as he does about asparagus

Yep. Get a bunch of 4 star WR's that are 6'3" or taller and throw it up. Odds are you'll hit one of three.

I think this one is pretty simple to answer. Since Hugh is currently unemployed there are only 2 active coachs that have beaten Saban twice. Mark Richt (once at LSU and once at Bama) and Urban Meyer. That's it. Freezus was the third.

Freeze clipped MDL 2x more due to an alignment of stars than to genius coaching, IMO...

Of course, that's the case with most Saban losses, IMO...

I 100% agree, but doesn't change the fact that he did. And, in retrospect that's all that anyone remembers.

First time Freeze won it was a legit W, second one was good fortune and 5 Bama turnovers but in fairness they did choke a big lead on Bama his last year there too. It coulda easily been 3 wins over Saban. If Pruitt hires Freeze that's a homerun hire for him imo and Freeze taking the fall for Ole Miss would work exactly as they hoped it would. Freeze gets an OC job making 7 figures in less than a year from having a smoking gun planted on him by OM to take the fall. All that said it sounds like Tennessee fans are saying Freeze isn't gonna get hired as OC.

The 1st win was certainly “more legit”, however, they had to have a defensive score to win, those are rare vs Bammer. I think Urban/OSU beat us in the 14CFP similarly... iirc.
