I recall that some journalists did question 'why' some were withheld. The answer from OM was that the withheld emails contained 'personal student athlete' info covered by privacy laws.
To my knowledge, none asked OM to simply redact the SA info. Again. OM has ALWAYS controlled the message. That's why they have the NCAA send correspondence to 'Out of state Lawyers.'
Coach34 .. "We're not hiring the ****ing Pirate at Miss State. GTFO"

I submitted my FOIA request to Ole Miss compliance on June 30. Their department had 3 weeks to respond. I am sure you will all be surprised to learn that Ole Miss waited the entire three weeks to give me their response. And did they give the emails?
Of course not.
The reason I was given for not gaining access to those emails was that they did not fall under the Freedom of Information Act, but instead the Mississippi Public Record Act of 1983. It was an extremely detailed response, and I don’t want to bore people with a lot legal jargon, so I will cut to the chase. They denied on four grounds basically.
The NCAA will not let them release items that pertain to an investigation of possible rules violations
Those people sent them with the expectation of privacy
Some are protected under Mississippi tort laws
Others were sent with the protection of disclosure due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

So they used to care about FERPA?

As a Christian, I'm just dumbfounded by the shear arrogance of those involved .. yes, even the Church. I was taught that BEFORE there can be forgiveness, the sinner must CONFESS his sins, CHANGE his ways, honestly REPENT, and REPAY those that were wronged.
ALL are lacking. All I see is a self-absorbed con-man, that continues to be 'all about Freeze.'

The group still exists under a different name. I'm sure that they were incorporated as a non-profit, so one would think you could use federal FOIA requests to get a list of officers and potentially donation information.
