Thrus night baseball
Leading 2 - 0. Still don't know how to run the bases or to get a run from a guy standing on 3rd with one out.

5-1 top of the 8th. Good pitching by Dohm. Got 8 innings from him. Davis in now.
-
Davis throws a flat 89 mph fastball and can't locate his offspeed very well, so he's going to get hit.
After 2 years, he is who he is.

And now the defense is melting down. Hope we got this guy out.

And Auger saves a potential disaster. Going to the BTM 8 5-2

Time to sit Bryce Trout and let Stevens get more AB's.
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

I agree with you most of the time but Hujsak is 6 for 12 with 5 runs scored 5 rbis 3 walks and 2 hbp and a couple of sbs in the last 5 games and he's been hitting some rockets. Looks like he's starting to heat up

Why? He's hitting 50 points higher than Trout and has a higher OBP

Keep it going! Winning is what matters.

Now this is definitely the right perspective!

Good little W.
Nice to see Stevens in RF. The upside is real.
Seems Hujsak is better as a pinch hitter. He's got a little streak going. He's a SWAC and Micro school slayer.

The left side of the infield is much improved, I don't pucker my ass on every play to the left like I did last year.
Everyone wants to be a beast...until its time to do what beasts do.

We added some nice freshmen. Luke Dotson has been impressive so far. And Cupp and Stevens look like potential starters as freshmen. Too bad Makhail Grant is out with Tommy John as he is our best freshman pitching prospect.
The best part of the game to me was Auger getting out of the jam in the 8th. Last year that would have likely been a meltdown with one of our relievers left to rot.
I want to see Logan Forsythe pitch in one of the games Saturday in relief. If he pitches like he did against Jackson State he could be another impact bullpen arm to go with Schuelke, Auger, and Black.
