Burner phones. First reported by ED. Correct?
-
They traced a number from the first batch of numbers they got to a burner phone in Yuma Arizona, home a Arizona Western CC. They were recruiting kids from there. If the dates line up with a visit from UNM there is going to be a problem, and someone has some splainin to do. I think it might just be the first crack in the door for investigation #3.

Yes and know of at least two burner phones that were collected.

Rosebowl seemed to dismiss the Yuma burner calls on his podcast a couple of days ago....must be something more brewing

I really think he's just covering his ass on things like this. He basically says there's nothing to it until he has proof positive of it. You gotta remember that the shitbirds are looking for any reason to sue him and try to shut him up. They are at the point that anything they can do to hurt Mississippi State, regardless of how small or stupid, is a great victory to them.

Yep. He dismissed burner phones when it first broke here.

Agree.
A few weeks ago on the Boneyard he downplayed having Freeze's phone records & it disappointed people on this board. Well.....
Due to lawsuits, Steve is at the point of verifying everything before he really gets into a specifics.

If OM staff was arranging escort hookups on their State of Mississippi phones, image what they must have been doing with the burners...

Unless the burners were purchased with cash ( more that likely were ) the purchase or said phones would be on record somewhere.

I agree, same situation from him on hookers for recruits.

Question just out of my own curiosity about burner phones and call logs....when examining call records for someone such as Freeze, how does a particular phone number register as a a burner number? As far as I know, all you see is a number and maybe the network carrier. Since even burners use the same networks as the big carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc) I wouldn't think there is a smoking gun. Seems you would have to do quite a bit of digging to distinguish which numbers are burners and which ones aren't.

Presumably the carriers know which numbers are reserved for burner use. Could be that entire exchanges (XXX-) are reserved for their use within each area code.

Correct. Burner phones are one thing that ED was exclusively out in front of (I believe it was Random Poster who posted it). I was skeptical and asked Steve about it at the time, and he hadn't heard anything about it and brushed it off. So credit where it is due....

Many, many folks on a number of these sports boards have underestimated Steve R time and again.....not sure why, but that has been the case....also, he has been castigated, and still is, over his past which he has never denied....I actually think a lot of the underestimation is due to people judging him just on his appearance....long hair and tats.....Listening to his interview with WHBQ radio yesterday I, once again, heard a person who is articulate and confident in his ability to deal with anyone.
