How/where did Rodgers get the 5 names he put out?
Does McDonnell, Schlossnagle, and Tadlock have the same agent? Doubtful. Not that any or all of them aren?t angling for a raise though.
Did this information come from our side? Does Rodgers have sources inside every top baseball program?s athletic dept.?
We don?t need to discuss Mingione or Butch. That is a pretty obvious assumption that they would be on the candidate list.
I would thin Cohen would want to keep this stuff quiet. Wonder what he is thinking about those names being put out. It can?t make his job easier.
As a side note, a poster on the other board said that Louisville just started charging an admission of $10 to games this year. I guess it was free admission before.

I don't know who his sources are but Cohen definitely likes to keep things as quiet as possible.

Exactly... even if John had floated the idea as a general hello to any of those coaches, no way anything is going to come to an agreement during this early of the season. Any coach not focused on their team right now isn't someone I want i don't think.
If they focused on flirting with us, they won't perform their best this year and maybe they won't be who we still want.
Any names floated right now, I won't say won't happen.. but it's more agents pumping their guys names up i believe at this time

Ari Gold doing his Damn Job...if I were Mike Bianco and Manieri, I would tell my agent to float my name. You could buy a new boat or some good lake-front real estate with the quick raise you get, just by putting your name out.

listen to Scooba
Go back to the Pruitt situation in football- Cohen was talking to other coaches besides Pruitt- and Sexton leaked the info on Pruitt trying to force Cohen's hand and get other coaches to back off. Cohen didnt cave and kept on rolling

If we can’t get any of the 3, bring Butch home.

I'd try McDonnell, Schlosnagle(I think he is the least likely), sully, and Corbin. If none take it go get butch. Jay Johnson is a good coach but I'd rather have butch than jay. McDonnell would be the greatest hire we have ever made. In any sport.

I’d definitely try them first.

McDonnell doesn’t like his situation at Louisville and if they hire the interim AD which is their plan they will lose McDonnell if not to us someone else. The talk with McDonnell is real and it’s not to get a raise.

why is his situation at Louisville changed by the AD situation? This is not what I'm understanding. He makes 1.3 million and has a long contract. He gets anything he wants at Louisville. Their stadium is really nice. He has literally no job anxiety about losing his position.
What about his situation at Louisville could he not like? Bringing in a new AD just makes him stronger there- because the new AD cant **** with him in any way

I was wrong there- no doubt. But I underestimated Adidas needing one of their top guys back in college basketball. Thank the Rulas and their contacts in college basketball for making him an option for us.
But we are comparing an apparel company pushing one of their guys into a job who didnt have a job currently to stealing a coach with a great job. Huge difference imo

He was extremely loyal to Jurich and had a great relationship with him. He didn’t like how that went down and doesn’t like the interim AD they have there that could be named the permanent AD. He respects Cohen a lot and we could see a situation where the timing could be right to make a jump. He could jump into this job and hit the ground running and immediately win here. This could be a great landing place for him. Of the three big names mentioned, I think he’s the most likely candidate to accept the job.

I would not be suprised if he ends up being the coach and as I've Stated earlier, it's would be the greatest hire in the history of our university.
