Hello, Reggie Perry.
I realize there is always a tendency to look ahead to next year, and you never know what will happen, but even if we have a couple transfers (Wright is probably the most likely), things look potentially very, very good for next year:
Nick Weatherspoon
Lamar Peters / Tyson Carter / DJ Stewart
Q Weatherspoon / Robert Woodard
Aric Holman / Reggie Perry
Abdul Ado / Tsishumpa / Datcher
That is a clear NCAA Tourney team, possibly even a top 4-5 seed.

Howland needs to schedule us like a 4-5 seed. Had he scheduled us like a 12 seed we'd be in this year's tournament for sure.

Current = 68
win over LSU = +5 spots to 63 (secures No. 6 seed in SEC Tournament)
win over SEC Tournament 2nd Round vs. 11 seed South Carolina = +3 spots to 60
win over SEC Tournament Quarterfinal vs. 3 seed Florida = +10 spots to 50
win over SEC Tournament Semifinal vs. 2 seed Tennessee = +12 spots to 38
loss to Tennessee in semifinal = minus 8 spots to 58
loss to Auburn in final = minus 7 spits to 45
I think we have to beat LSU and make the championship game to feel safe. There's at least a shot if we lose to Tennessee in the semifinal.

What a treat for the subject to even be on the board.
Thanks Coach Howland!

I don’t want to play USCe again.. and would love to play Auburn again.

Agree on both points. aTm would be good to play in the quarterfinals or somewhere.

I can't really read on my phone ... print is just too small. Make it bigger and you wind up scrolling all the time. Crap, it's bad enough on my laptop.

He might not have had much choice. Could be the "good" teams we should have played didn't want to play us because we were supposed to be so crappy and it would hurt their RPI. You just never know. It'll be interesting to see how he schedules this fall.
I expect Schaefer might pick up a bit too.

I'd like to avoid Tennessee and Kentucky. Wouldn't mind some revenge on Missouri.

I dont think we can beat Kentucky, Tenn, or Auburn. Everybody else is up for grabs. We got to win Saturday and see what happens next. If we dont- let's enjoy some NIT action
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

If we play USCe or especially TN again, run. Get up and down. We are more athletic and longer. They both want to drag you in the deep end and fight. Run run run. Extend carter, x, and Elis minutes if you have to. Run those country strong bastards to death.
-
We can beat Auburn. They are not deep and are undersized. Not near as physical as Tenn. They live by the 3 ball. We can play with them.
-
This idea that we can?t play with tenn is false. Y?all realize they shot 68% in the second half and we shot 28%. I mean holy crap, on both.
Our plan second time around would be much better.

Only way we can play with Tenn is if we get Schofield and Williams out of the game in foul trouble. Tennessee killed us at the free throw line too.

Meh, I agree I would attack them offensively to get in foul trouble, but they had a career night offensively. A lot of those shots rim out normally. I mean Bama beat them by 28 two weeks ago. They ain?t golden state.
