When the good players of that class left, he pulled out a whopping 5 wins the next year. Also, the development of his players should tell you enough about his coaching abilities. Poor article after poor article about the OM players drafted under Freeze and how far behind they were in development. Just don’t get where Saban going with this. But if he does get the job, talent will probably make him look good again. It’s what worked before.
Agree 100%. Bama would become a little more beatable also. They would sling it all over the place instead of utilizing the power run game.

this rings of MDL's hire of Kiffin...

FWIW, Freeze was possibly interviewing for an opening of "consultant"... we had a guy leave after the season...

edit: the 2018 offense is prolly gonna score 40/game regardless of the OC....

Kiffen much better offensive mind imo. So what will he be “consulting?” Escorts is the only thing that comes to mind

If Saban hires His Holiness as OC it will be either the most genius thing he has ever done or an utter, catastrophic fiasco.

If he hires freeze and lets him run his offense with no restrictions, I do not see bama defense finishing 1st in the country. Freeze offense will consist of 3 and outs and a bunch of 1 min td drives. That will take its toll on the defense... see 2017 championship game vs Clemson in the 2nd half where hurts could not sustain a drive

Saban has the largest staff in the NCAA. Maybe he just needs an escort coordinator

or something. Honestly though, I just don't get it. Why Freeze? It's not like they have trouble recruiting and need the dirtiest SOB in the game to help them there and we all know Freeze really isn't a good "game" coach. Makes no sense.

As I've said before I wonder if this has been in the works for awhile and it could explain the laughably light sentence Freeze got.

I don't think he will last long under Saban- but what OC does?

Also- I wouldn't be surprised if Freeze just showed up and begged for a job there. That's actually the most likely explaination knowing Freeze.
Oh, if he took the job, he wouldn't be running his offense. He'd be running Nick's offense.

I think it is more likely that, if they are really looking at him, he'd be getting Mike Locksley's current spot with Locksley becoming offensive coordinator.

    This^...

Locksley stands a good chance at gettin' the OC gig at Bammer or FSU...

He could be interviewing for "head coach in waiting". After all ... he beat Saban twice, something few if any others have done. **
