First look at UK and Newman
I'm curious to see what each has this season.
-
It just sucks because it looked like Newman wasn't even trying when he was here. It was like he thought he was too good for starkville.
I think the move was best for both parties though. Newman needed a wake up call and a dose of reality.

There's no like about it. He absolutely thinks he's above Starkville and MSU.

And after he found out he wasn't a one and done he couldn't swallow his pride and come back to starkville. He needed someone to blame.

He is playing the 2 spot well. He could have been very good here in his would be junior year. He’s a very good player but not a transcendent point guard

A year in the SEC, redshirt, now in his 3rd year and still a borderline draft guy as of today. Life happens fast

I don't think he's a very good player. I think he's selectively good and only on offense. He's a terrible defender and he's a poor ball handler. He's good at shooting open 3's. Name one NBA 2 guard that isn't. They aren't 6'1 either.
-
He also needs star players around him. When teams can just run him off the 3 point line he's completely shut down.

He has been stuffed twice finishing at the rim. Jump shooter...
-
He still can't finish at the rim.
-
Diallo just stole a pass outta Newman's hands cause he was lazy coming around the pick and then Newman gets blocked at the rim again. He's soft. I am glad he's gone. Truth hurts.
-
He was always fast as lightning but he was never under control
-
Great athlete, great shooter in spurts, not a great basketball player.
-
Stuffed at the rim twice more this half. That's at least four times this game.
-
Honestly looks like the exact same player as the day he left MSU
-
He looks like the same player we saw when he was in a maroon jersey.

Yep. Wish him well. I hope he can improve for his career's sake.

Malik is 4-14 from the floor. He is who we thought he was
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

He won't make the NBA, hope he's brushing up on his European languages..
