If it's not a contract signed then I would say the rumor is BS.
It?s pretty common in coaching for when they have agreed in principle on a deal, but the actual contract hasn?t been developed. Depending on what Gruden is wanting, it could take a couple of months to actually write the contract and get all the legal stuff - and Board of Regents/Trustee approval.

Love this time of year. The dumbasses just easily expose themselves. Over and over.

Grumors I know. I didn't know a MOU was a thing for college athletics.
OM boards are reporting self imposed, hugh didn’t do it, we didn’t cheat, escorts were for Hugh, bo is better than Eli, crime dog will get it done, etc etc etc. But we see where that all is...

This. There is no indication that Gruden will be a great college coach. It?s a completely different animal from the NFL - and he hasn?t been an NFL coach in many years.
Gruden is a PR hire. Go ahead, Tennessee. Continue to spiral downward.

OK, thanks BrunswickDawg. I wasn't aware of that.

Glad somebody finally said it. I don?t know that Gruden makes a good college coach. The NFL and college games are two different things. I?m not sure that Gruden is enough of a disciplinarian to be successful as a college coach. I also remember some of his players, while in Tampa, not liking him because he treated them like objects and not as people. That?s probably acceptable in the NFL because everyone is making bank and it?s a win at all costs situation. Not sure how that mentality will sit with college kids and their parents.

Gruden was fired at TB...and he won a SB with Tony Dungys team... so, he is not Belichik or anything close
also, he offenses were boring at TB, but you could argue that his defense made risk unnecessary

My attorney is well connected at the state level here in Tennessee. Heavily involved in state politics and a big booster. He's 100% convinced it's Gruden. I have no idea but that's what he told me today.

Another annoying, brick by brick, coach speak type of coach

I heard the same last week from a HUGE UT booster. Said the check to Gruden had been written. Not saying it's true, but that's what he told me.

It sounds like they are just going to throw money at Gruden until he says yes. If he hasn't already.

I’ll believe it when I see it.
I guess OM will have to “settle” with Dungy then.*************
Death penalty or bust!!!***
