Is it Possible to be a Narcissistic Fan Base?
Let's look at the signs of narcissism and you decide if the Rebs base fits the mold.
1. An obvious self-focus in interpersonal exchanges
2. Problems in sustaining satisfying relationships
3. A lack of psychological awareness (see insight in psychology and psychiatry, egosyntonic)
4. Difficulty with empathy
5. Problems distinguishing the self from others (see personal boundaries)
6. Hypersensitivity to any insults or imagined insults (see criticism and narcissists, narcissistic rage and narcissistic injury)
7. Vulnerability to shame rather than guilt
8. Haughty body language
9. Flattery towards people who admire and affirm them (narcissistic supply)
10. Detesting those who do not admire them (narcissistic abuse)
11. Using other people without considering the cost of doing so
12. Pretending to be more important than they actually are
13. Bragging (subtly but persistently) and exaggerating their achievements
14. Claiming to be an "expert" at many things
15. Inability to view the world from the perspective of other people
16. Denial of remorse and gratitude

1. For damn sure
2. I'd point at the fanbase's relationships with former coaches. The only former football coach that I'd say they have a good relationship with is Bird Brewer. And that base currently does not like the most winningest baseball and football coach of all-time
3. Nail meet hammer
4. The confederate symbolism carried by fans (not the university who is getting rid of all of it) proves this one
5. Hmm
6. All day every day & twice on Sunday.
7. Hm
8. Yep
9. Big-time. Look no further than the base's feeling toward Godfrey
10. See Dan Wolken
11. See Nutt lawsuit and how they lied to the media
12. Hahahaha that'd be a big yep
13. Lololol bogus national championships pre intergration & an '03 co west banner lulz
14. Fo sho
15. Yep
16. Yep

Politics board is where you can spare your political ideas. Not here. I've cleaned it up and let's keep it that way please.

I used to think Florida and Bama had the market on narcissistic fan bases but Ole Miss is the national champion when it comes to this.

Careful now. They'll be hanging another banner.

Glad to hear you cleaned it up because I was seeing politics all over the place and no one was saying anything as long as it's in a certain direction.
But this one was too easy. Even if you voted for the guy you gotta admit...
Many people including OM folks think that narcissism is the way of wealth and success. Freeze was just a sociopath.

Did you just do a 16 pt post and then respond point by point to yourself?

How is this even still a question. Some will just never learn I guess. Those people GET OFF on MSU fans who can't tell when they are being talked down to
-
Notre Dame is the worst, not even close
They tell you they "I went to Notre Dame" as though it's their name. "I'm [Name], I went to Notre Dame"
The funny thing is, you get the "I went to Notre Dame" from people who just buy scalp tickets or had a 2nd cousin that maybe went there. "My family goes to Notre Dame"

I copy and pasted 16 points from wiki and responded to them. Yes

Context. Thank you.

The overriding point is that those clinical indicators are meant to identify an individual as a narcissist but can we apply those indicators to a group? Because if we can, I don't think there is a question. Particularly the message board and social media crew.
