Small early training camp notes
The 2 freshman Hill and Gay are the talk of camp the first 2 days.
Like I said from day one Hill plays this year and plays a lot. Not knocking Gibson and
Lee , KH just that talented
KT has bulked up also doesn't look like a kid going thru his first fall camp
Word is expect Ellis here first of August

How does Fitz look throwing the ball? Is he making presnap adjustments and better reads?

Just a guess, but it's probably way too early for anyone to know that. They aren't even in pads yet.
I think all actual football questions will likely have to wait a few weeks

Awesome news. I'm interested to hear about Nick's progression in the passing game. I think his progression is the difference in a 6 win season versus 8 or 9

I'd like to see Lee used as a H-Back like we used Nick Griffen along with Aeris in the same backfield. Lee seems to like contact based on his special teams play. He's very athletic and he seems like a guy that can run the ball, catch the ball and block well.

Hadn't thought of using D-Lee as an H-Back, but I actually really like this idea. As you point out, he's big and likes contact. Not real sure about him as a receiver, but he could definitely be a much better version of Shump as a short yardage specialist and TD vulture from inside the 10.
It's the roller coaster of hope that this program keeps us on that makes it hell being a State fan. - CadaverDawg, 10/15/22

I don't want to take out Aeris around the goal line though. He smells the end zone.

Dude, how is D-Lee in the game as an H-Back affecting Aeris being on the field? The point of an H-Back/FB is to have two backs on the field together. It gives us the option of having D-Lee lead block for Aeris or give it to him as the first man through. It would take a TE or WR off the field depending on whether we decide to go "heavy", not Aeris.

When I saw this "Not real sure about him as a receiver, but he could definitely be a much better version of Shump as a short yardage specialist and TD vulture from inside the 10." I assumed you meant having DLee instead of Aeris because I don't ever recall Shump & Aeris being in together around the goal line.

We use our TE's as H-backs. It wont be DLee
And I'll wait until we see Hill on the field to believe it. We heard about what a hard-hitter Leo was his true freshman year- and he redshirted. Until he pass-blocks, his status will remain uncertain

Leo came in out of shape. By all accounts, Kylin Hill and Willie came in the opposite.

True, and supposedly Leo was asked about redshirting and had no issue with it.
And I wouldn't be shocked if Austin Williams also plays as true freshman .

I want to know about or wide receivers, besides Donald Gray. Is there anyone standing out, mainly on the outside?

They've only been practicing for two days. How would anyone know?

Uh, you called him a TD vulture.
