I believe he decommitted BECAUSE Bama called. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me we were plan B.

Well Boniol(sp) hasn't been here very long has he? So we have never really had a kicking specialist to develop kickers properly have we? And you are probably right, but all I'm saying is go with what Boniol thinks he can develop best(leg strength or accuracy).

According to GT fan on tRant that called bulovas to bama before anyone else I saw, we were plan C. GT fan said bulovas left GT and assured them he was solid... Saban called Sunday night and boom

There you go. State fans misread the situation, after being fed sunshine by Steve Robertson, etc.

Gotta temper your expectations when listening to RoseBowl. I cut what he says down to about 60%.

I'm just skeptical on how much accuracy can be taught. Its almost like trying to coach a basketball player at the college level how to be a consistent 3 point shooter. Yes, you can help a little but usually a guy who is not a good shooter doesn't just turn into a good shooter because he was coached. Its really more either a guy can do it or he can't.

Fair point. I'm hoping that as long as we can get a guy on campus that has a good leg, the kicking coach can do something with him and we can develop a consistent guy at that position.

September is only 7 months away....we'll need a kicker that is consistent then. I like the JUCO idea.

Buzzsaw 12 (GT fan on tRant) says...
"The kid has been wishy washy all along and a bit of a flake but he is a kicker so.... He apparently lied to our staff about the Miss St. visit. We found out when he cancelled an in home and said he was going to State instead because his punter buddy was taking a visit there and blamed it on miscommunication with a Tech assistant who just left for GA Southern. So I guess blame it on the coach who's no longer there. Lol. He still came for his official this past weekend to Tech but who knows who dropped who in this deal.
Since the coaches can't comment we may never know but some have said that we told him we were moving on after having him here for the weekend and others have said he reaffirmed his commitment only to turn around 24 hours later and decommit. Either way I'm glad it worked out this way for Tech."
...
Apparently GT already has top kicker in Georgia lined up

Well at least we won't have to worry about Bulovas making our recruiting ranking go down*****************************

If we had a kicker this year we would be at 7 wins instead of 5, we need a kicker

So apparently Bulovas does have a very strong leg but as a SR he was 7-14 of FGs with a long of 38 yards (per 247) and someone posted here that he was 11-25 in his HS career. Doesn't sound like any kind of sure kicker for the Fall of 2017. Still wish we would go the JUCO route.

Those numbers are not correct. He made a lot more than that and had like 50+ yarder this year in a playoff game, I believe

Let's just hope Saban doesn't offer Day

Put this in the recruiting thread but his HS numbers are not good. 3/9 in his SR year and 7/14 his JR year unless these stats are bogus.

This kid is next up. Looks like we may be able to get him with a PWO offer.
