We fired his ass so what would we expect him to do? I just can't believe a MS HS recruit would want to go all the way to Louisville to play for him when they could stay in the state at MSU and play in the SEC. I can tell you what, if Sirmon doesn't perform light years better up there than he did here then he is likely one and done at Louisville as well.

What makes sirmon think Petrino will put up with sirmon past this year?
Sirmon defensive rankings...
Scoring defense -- 93rd
Rushing def -- 70th
Passing def -- 120th
Total def -- 110th
-
Sirmon sucks, glad his sorry a** is bilking somebody else. Very unprofessional of him. As Todd said douchebag.
-
Not many coaches can guarantee they aren't going to be fired or leaving in the next couple of years at the rate Saban is destroying SEC programs.

He'll do a lot better in the ACC.

Maybe... fsu, Clemson, VT, Miami, unc, and GT can be difficult to defend. Have to see their ACC schedule

Question? Rivers and Sweat are both listed as Weakside Defensive Ends on 24/7 and so is Odom. I could see how this could be used against us by other programs in regard to quick playing time. Louisville might promise seeing the field quickly to a HS player at the same position rather than waiting behind one of our JC EE players already in school. I don't think much of Petrino and you can bet Sirmon is out to hurt MSU as much as possible. Hey, what did we expect? His family didn't even move to Starkville. Time will tell if he is a good DC at Louisville. Recruiting is a dirty business.

Clemson & FSU in same division too. Gotta play them every year. From a defensive standpoint that may be worse than facing Bama every year.
ETA: Dabo & Jimbo can actually develop QBs along with WRs, RBs, and Olinemen too.

It's gotta be easier than the SEC and the SEC West in particular.

I would say it will depend on the year. Probably 50/50 each year which one is more difficult from a defense standpoint.

TBuck would know. He should be able to counter any nonsense for the guys he's on.
Unfortunately, we got the raw end of the Sirmon deal. He came so late last year, he had no influence on recruiting. He leaves this year before NSD, so we ended up with a great recruiter that never paid dividends.

Coaches need to think of the future not the now. Hell I suspect Dan will leave one day and it will be a big time program so why would Sermon burn a bridge?

That's all well and good. I hope our coaches point out he has no clue WTF he is doing as a coach and that they will be playing for someone else a year from now.

You can bet Louisville is selling that they developed a Heisman Trophy winner. That's offense. Don't see how they can sell Sirmon as a successful DC, unless they are bashing our D talent and it wasn't his fault. We will know soon. Recruiting: Hanging on the decisions of 17 and 18 year old athletes being wooed by grown men.

Ahh ... everyone hates Sirmon and he's the sole reason we lost all the games last year. Just like Manny before him and Collins before him. And now he done stole one of our 'cruits from us, from our very own backyard, and he ain't playing nice. Hate to say it but Sirmon ain't nowheres near Saban, not sure how he can still do that no matter what he says. Lville is a lot farther away than TTown too.
Not saying Sirmon is good or will be good ... but Manny and Collins are pretty decent.

What? He did call Mullen a Scientologist?!? Rookie!***
There is no honor among thieves and recruiting is a something in between lying, cheating, stealing, and pimping. If you don't have the heart for it don't pay attention until NSD.
Death penalty or bust!!!***

Well Dan should say the same thing about Sirmon, except Dan has been here a while and Sirmon has never been anywhere for a while. Wonder if Peter is moving his family to Louisville or staying in Nashville this time?
Regardless the odds of Peter being there more than a couple of year is at worst the same as Dan being here.
