TSUN has licensed Landshark and Finsup products.. Bye Bye Rebels..
It's coming....
Sept. 2, 2016
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss fans may soon purchase apparel and products that celebrate the football team's Landshark defense, as the university is announcing the launch of the "Fins Up/Landshark" special licensing program.
To honor the popular Landshark tradition, Ole Miss has developed special logos that will appear on products for retail. This series will compliment the university's other licensed marks including Ole Miss, Rebels, etc. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Landshark items will go towards the Ole Miss ROTC scholarship program, administered by the university.
"'Fins Up' evokes such wonderful emotions with our fans, and we are excited to offer a new and official avenue to enjoy the Landshark tradition," said Ross Bjork, Ole Miss Athletics Director. "Through this program, we look forward to honoring the memory of the great Tony Fein and connecting his legacy to the military with our ROTC programs."
In the coming weeks, fans will be able to purchase Landshark and "Fins Up" merchandise at OleMissSports.com, the Rebel Locker Room on Jackson Avenue and at other local merchants who carry Ole Miss products.
Roots of the Landshark and "Fins Up" cry at Ole Miss date back to 2008. As part of the football defensive unit's identity, players celebrate big plays by putting a hand to their forehead in the shape of a shark fin.
The term Landshark originated that season from senior linebacker Tony Fein, an Army veteran who served a one-year tour in the Iraq War before arriving in Oxford. A two-year letterman after transferring from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College, Fein was the 2008 recipient of the Pat Tillman Award by the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Fein passed away in October 2009, but his legacy at Ole Miss continues through the Landshark.

"Ole Miss" and "Rebels" will be gone sooner rather than later. After the initial uproar, I suspect the average fan will embrace the change

2008...such a loved tradition rooted in history**

They might better check with Jimmy Buffet and the Miami Dolphins before they run to far with that. Like everything else they do, they stole that stuff too.

Didn't Fein die of an OD?

I guess their going to make Jaws their official movie.

Their landshark D in the second half looked more like nurse sharks against FSU. Of course, we couldn't stop USA in the second half which was much worse.

Ha. That pick has been making the rounds this week. I added the Fins Up! to it to add to it image.jpgimage.jpg

Ross is a trash liar pandering to old racists and continues to lie on this topic, but this has been in the works for years. More evidence.
