Celebrating no more work until Jan 4th.

Alpine - Pure Hoppiness, insanely smooth for a Double IPA.. It's a west coast IIPA but doesn't kick you in the mouth.
Ranger Creek Small Batch 11 - Changing from IPA to Sour, little fruit of the apricot but very tart and sour. LOVE IT.
Anderson Valley - Blood Orange Gose - lot of Blood Orange flavor balanced with the salt and tart of Gose... sweet and sour very good.

Dude, you're having one hell of a Christmas.

Here's all I've really got to show off, and it's not even for me:

A flight of Samuel Smith's stuff for my brother, who's a pretty big beer geek. (I did something similar last year, but it was more of a grab bag of Southern and German stuff.) Those are all the non-fruit beers that Sam Smith makes other than a Wheat Beer and an India Ale that's only available in my region as a part of a box set that I unfortunately found after I had already bought all the others. (Sam Smith also makes a really solid hard cider, but I thought if I was going to exclude the fruit beers, I certainly couldn't stray all the way to a cider.)

Only beer I've had in all that is the Lagunista shugga. That's a damn impressive beer run. That Karbage can has the best holiday packaging I've ever seen. Hilarious

Beers the GF and I drank during the Belk Bowl win
Westbrook One Claw Rye Pale Ale, The Duck Rabbit Milk Stout and Dolllebock (Loved this one...), Against the Grain 35k... Freaking Awesome, Bells Two Hearted Ale, Terrapin Wake n Bake Imperial Stout, Terrapin Rye Cubed (AMAZING.. from 2014), Cigar City Wiregrass Post-Prohibition Ale (Colab with 2 Alabama brewers in celebration of Homebrewing being made legal), Growler of Snake Handler, Yellowhammer Tobacco Road Red Ale, Bell's Special Double Cream Stout, Florida Beer Company Sunshine State Pils, Bells Cherry Stout, Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar (Been a while but still good), Bells Expedition Stout (Still don't usually care for Stouts..but this was dark and chocolaty and smooth.. loved it)

    2016-01-01 (1).jpg

Bells Cherry Stout (Love it), Bells Two Hearted Ale, Westbrook One Claw, Finch's Beer Company Secret Stache Stout (another Louisiana find), Great Raft Brewing Reasonably Corrupt Schwarzbier (good session beer from Shreveport) , Chafunkta Brewing Company Old 504 porter (this is brewed at Lazy Magnolia), Terrapin Hopsecutioner (one of my favorite IPA's right now), Terapin Wake n Bake, Cigar City Jai Alia (super smooth)

The Jai Alai I made a mistake... ALWAYS check the Cans for any markings... I got home and was going to do a trade for a 2 day old heady Topper and saw they were canned on Oct 12...2 months ago... the IPA was still good but not not super fresh so not something someone would trade for.

I've seen others do it but I have not signed up. What's your take on it?

Used it for several years... great way to track what beers you are drinking / have drink if you care for that kind of thing.
I use ratebeer also, mainly when in stores because it has a barcode scanner, so really easy to find out about a beer if you don't know anything about it.

Had a very unique Belgium Christmas Beer last night. I picked it up in Tuscaloosa in Sept, and it had been setting on the shelf for almost a year.. The spices had faded but it was still very unique.

4/5 "Aged over a year, vinegar with a little honey, Sour dark bitter chocolate taste with coriander that lingers"

Tonight with dinner is Terrapin Hopsecutioner, definitely one of my favorite IPA's to pick up when back in Alabama. Tastes a little different in bottles than last time I had in cans. More hop forward instead this time.. last time I really got the Munich malt and the sweetness in the mid palette. Still very good though.

Now onto Avery Liliko'i Kepolo which is just super tasty. A wit beer made with spices and passion fruit added.
I could drink this all day.. tropical and tart. 4.25/5
