    34, no way Bama host

7 teams ranked plus us, SC and Georgia will have way better chance than Bama. Lsu might win two against them. They may make tourney but again no host. Book it, LOL.

And you may be right but they are currently in the running. Dont forget the SEC got 8 hosts last year and likely gets 7 this year depending on the finish

I see they have Lsu at home and Auburn away. Can't see them more deserving to host than us, SC or Ga.
I just hope we do! If so we have a much better chance of advancing. Not having a 3rd starter may be a problem.

I feel like 17 wins gets us a host as long as 1 of those is UPig. We cannot get swept

With them having a losing record in Sec and Msu with 4 more wins but yet their RPI is higher than ours? Heck we just beat them and one game10 run ruled them. I still don't get all the things in this bs rpi thingy!

They have fewer bad losses than us is what it amounts to. Our problem wasnt that we scheduled fairly softly OOC but that we lost a couple more than we needed to.

I guess we should just schedule as many top teams as we can in the future. I would think our wins and losses would mean way more than non conference. If we win one game over the Hogs and Bama wins one over Lsu do we jump them in RPI? They aren't even ranked, we are 14th. Btw I wouldn't be surprised if Lsu wins two against them

Winning 1 against the Arkansas (RPI - 3) would yes be better than Bama winning 1 against LSU (Rpi - 34)

But would we jump Bama? Maybe but Bama wouldn't stay at 14 either.

Bama plays Troy this week (rpi 47) compared to our game with North Alabama (rpi -278) next week.

Blows my mind still. Eye test, MSU ranked 14th with 14-10 sec record versus Bama not ranked, 10-14 and we beat them 2-3 yet they have better chance hosting.
I guess sometimes winning doesn't matter as much as who you play in baseball.

It's like C34 said, we scheduled soft in OOC and still lost games we shouldn't have. The losses to UCA and the midweek sweep to Austin Peay are just RPI killers.

Hell T&L were talking about UGA hosting also. Hint don't schedule CA and then lose.

exactly correct. those 3 loses are what are keeping us from being a lock to host right now.
this shows a better view of the rpi info

Those losses to Austin Peay and Central Arkansas are really bad and holding our RPI back significantly. If we had just split with Austin Peay and beat Central Arkansas we would be in a much better spot.

If we had a closer we'd have won all 3 and won against Air Force and South Al. If we had a closer, we're a national seed right now. We'd probably be somewhere around 40-8 or 41-7.

Yep. A top 10 team and probably a top 5.
