There are very few "basketball people." There are however people who don't worship baseball because it's baseball and that's who you're referring to. I've seen you reference this several times now and it's not correct

I'm talking about the people that bitch about the baseball program getting money and the basketball program not getting enough and therefore the solution is to cut off funding to MSU baseball and say fans are stupid for going to and supporting baseball.
That's an athletic department issue. Not a MSU baseball issue.

That's a very small portion of the fanbase though.

Yea but basketball has the most NIL funding per player of any sport on campus. The basketball-first people we have spend money.

That's also a numbers game - it's a lot easier to spread money over 15 players then over 35 or 85. And yes, basketball was always in the "helpin" business and had deep pocket funders.
I think some of the push back about baseball funding is purely about facilities. People look at The Dude and say "why can't the Hump be that good?".
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

But vocal. Vocal enough to get MSU sports personalities to agree with them.
That's dangerous and not good for MSU athletics. It's the same group think that got Arnett our head coaching job.

That first sentence is true. But it's not just numbers. We spent almost as much on one basketball player as we did the entire 2023 football roster. Not the case anymore with the 2024 football roster, but still.

Me? Well if you can read, you've seen that I've said I love baseball. I don't worship it and put it above all the other sports though.
You assumed and were incorrect.

Hell no. They were all Seniors. The Hump ROCKED back then? They won the damn SEC.

This place is turning into Genes Page 2.0
I agree 100%.... why are we comparing our own teams?

Starkville is now the town that Dan and Dak built. All this expansion with new stadiums, upgrades, new bars, new restaurants, and condos….none of that happens without those two.
