Pruitt. Muschamp. Aranda although they did a lot of the 3 high at Baylor.

And im not going to be the message board guy but we do it in HS. But like you said I guess going from a country cover 3 at Bogue Chitto to it could be complicated

Most of the SEC stopped playing defense years ago. We'll be fine.

A lot of the SEC plays defense the way Alabama does scheme wise anyway. He has a lot of disciples throughout the SEC.

We may or may not look like the keystone cops doing it but Ole Miss picked it up in one offseason and they're usually pretty bad on defense.

And it is a great move. We need to simplify and stop trying to fool everyone. I loved Arnetts defense but it was all about trying to fool you and made Jett Johnson cover and our safeties box fitters from depth any time teams spread us out. Dont get it twisted in 22 we were very good on defense but we are going to benefit from simplicity and playing hard. We were asking some very inexperienced guys to do some complicated things in the secondary last year
Is asking people to do something they can't do because of the defense being complicated or is it the DC not adapting to what he has?

Seems to be a theme with Arnett going on here. I think he had trouble identifying what his players could do at times. Eventually on both sides of the ball.

This was the same thing with Collin Duncan for a couple of years where he would somehow end up matched up on an All SEC receiver constantly.

It was the same issue as 2020. Inexperience combined with mountain west scheme

Rule changes on contract with receivers , holding or lack there of, assisting the runner along with the new targeting rules have changed the way defenses have to play. The offense has the advantage in many circumstances. It has for sure changed the game.

Golding isn't running what they ran at Alabama? That's surprises me.

You have to run what you have the personnel to run. Trying to force it will get you abused.
