Hughes Gone
Along with Brock, Mele, McBath, and Dewhurst.
-
Damn. Guess Hughes didn't want to settle for off-field... which yea means he couldn't fully recruit.

Can't name DC until the old one is gone?

Hughes is probably about ready for the rocking chair. He's been good for State over the years but it just may be time...happens to everybody.
-
Well good for him, he can retire and not have to put up with it all anymore.
-
Lane might bring him on for a year to assist with Flipmas!

It wouldn't shock me. We were worried about that last year.

Until when?

Think I saw he had 1 year left on his contract

I hope Coach Hughes will call it a career and has a great retirement. He's earned it. He's put in a lot of hours coaching and recruiting in the state of Mississippi.

A good man, but more built for the money under the table recruiting model. That still happens but more is above board these days.

How do you know it wasn't his own decision if given other opportunity for an off the field role? Maybe the other option did not suit him. Maybe he chose to retire before being let go. Does anyone know for sure? I think one of the articles only said "was not being retained" and not "let go"...
