Yes Leach was the HC and it's his job to ensure the D is getting good players. He runs the program. I'm not absolving him of blame. I'm saying the guy who was referred too as the "HC of the defense" didn't do good at his job.

It's like a murder charge- 2 people can be charged with the same murder and both given 20 to life. One of the defendants doesn't get to say "yeah I also shot the victim, but like the murder was the other defendants idea in the first place so I should go free.". Leach AND Arnett failed the D, they both get blame. But one one of those guys is still relevant so yeah I"m more concerned about Arnetts roll in this mess

Not with this defense. If anybody gets up on us, they're set. Auburn is our best chance on the road but I just don't see us leaving with a W.

LOL ... folks as usual are getting carried away when SC is probably a bottom 4 or 5 SEC defense. Most of the rest will probably be better. And 2 weeks in a row we have made QBs set their all-time records for completion percentage.

We're not beating Bama. Just think about our offense without Tulu's performance today. And then layer in the defense we have.

THANK YOU that's what felt off about these "previous staff" comments and I just didn't finish the thought to put it into words.

Arnett has been our DC for 3 seasons and now the HC. Leach was famously hands off on that side of the ball. Who made these awful defensive evaluations? Who failed to convince stud recruits he was the DC to play for? I have no idea what % of the blame should go to Arnett but it's definitely not the "previous staffs" fault

Our defense really hasn't been THAT good even under Arnett. We finished consistently 7th in the SEC in PPG.

It's just that our fans blamed the Air Raid and Will for their problems.
