    Why did the Big East Conference let happen to it happen?

    They were a BCS conference. How did they let those basketball school take over and run off the football schools? It's crazy to me.

    Good question: I've never looked into it.

    Money I suppose. The ACC had the TV contract that the Big East didn't have?

    Expansion and not enough marquee blue bloods. Losing West Virginia, Miami, and Virginia Tech hurt.
