We aren?t in this position because we fired Stansbury. We are in this position because we decided to hire Rick Ray over Kermit Davis

While I agree that you cannot still blame this on firing Stans, it is frightening how eight years later we are in a very similar spot to where we were when Stans was fired. Mass exodus of transfers, our best players all leaving, and we have to basically start over from scratch with clearly less talent.

Surely you're not saying we have less talent coming back now than we did Rick Ray's first year? Trivante Bloodman ain't walking through that door.

How good is Cameron Matthews? Rating isn't very high, but nice offer list.

What position is that??
Agree 100% RR hiring was a disaster.. Hell Rick Ray even knew that
And everyone does understand that OM finished 11th in the conference , with all of Kermit’s players except the best 2 on the team .. Schuler and Tyree.. those were AK guys..

Why would anyone support a team that underachieves every year? It wears you down.
There's someone in my head but its not me.

Same reason most all of us supported Mullen after getting rid of Croom. We saw the same improvement in Howlands first year that we did Mullen's first.
The difference is fans showed up for Mullen his first couple of years and nobody showed up for Howland and his teams.
Hard to recruit and win when you have 25 people in the stands every game.
Yall showed up for Stans when he consistently "underachieved" and that is exactly what he apparently did according to your standards. Yall have this romantic memory of the Stans years and don't remember us getting bounced in the first or second round every time he got us in the Tourney.
Stans would have been really average had the SEC been set up like it is now back then. I don't understand why that is so hard to comprehend. We aren't nor were we ever Duke, NC, Kansas etc. We have always had an average basketball program save maybe what, one or two years in our history.
We are historically a NIT type program that has shown flashes here and there very rarely.

Gabe Watson's dad played @ MSU.

Watson from USM is a fringe SEC player at best. A shooting guard that can't shoot threes. A band-aid cause we need bodies so I get why we are offering but he needs to be like the 9th best player on the roster if you have a tournament team.

Maryland 247 calls him a pg, and they're pursuing

He is a guy you bring off the bench for 5 minutes and hope he gets hot....and if not, you sit him right back down because he is a bad defender.
