Looks great y'all. I boiled 10lbs of shrimp on Saturday. First year without a dove shoot in a while. Good weekend was had though.

Actually it was surprisingly great! I usually put in foil with shrimp, sour cream, sweet peppers and onions, and mushrooms and grill. Just changed things up for a change.

As usual, y'all's seafood makes me jealous. Damn, I need to fry up some fish soon.

Smoked/roasted a couple of chickens, roasted some crispy potatoes, and made some vinegar slaw.

Capped off the evening by breaking into this sampler of Teeling Irish Whiskey that a friend bought me in Ireland:

Interesting distillery. All of their stuff appears to be the product of a blend of traditional and non-traditional methods. The single grain, for instance, has corn as the most predominant grain in the mash bill and is finished in California red wine barrels. The small batch is a traditional single malt and grain whiskey blend that's aged in ex-bourbon barrels, but its finished in rum barrels. And the single malt is a aged in a combination of five different wine barrels.

Tried the single grain last night. It was interesting. The wine finish was definitely present, not unlike some sherried scotches I've tried. But the central flavor was a strange hybrid of youngish bourbon and Irish whiskey.
