    Baseball gurus....what do you about lefty Christian McCleod from Huntsville?

    Got a friend who says he?s a pretty solid pitcher. Word is he turned down the draft to come to State. 90+ plus fastball with a nasty slider. Thoughts?

    Here is a quick summary of his season. He was a second team Hs all-American.

    Christian Macleod, LHP, Huntsville: A Mississippi State signee, MacLeod was a 7A first-team All-State selection after going 8-2 with a 1.13 ERA, 103 strikeouts and 18 walks in 55 2/3 innings.

    I think he's a weekend starter eventually. Probably not next year though. We have some good freshmen pitchers coming- Eric Cerentola, Bryce Brock, and Brandon Smith along with McCleod. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of those four contribute next year.

    Yes, he relieved Billingsley in the 12-2 loss to OSU and pitched several innings.

    He went undrafted but it was because he told everyone if he was not top ten rounds he was going to school. 2 teams tested the waters with him both in the 14th round.
