Both of his parents actually, but they were divorced and the mom isn?t there anymore. I had both of them nearly 20 years ago for different psychology classes.

I wish Bob the best! Sounds to me like he just wants to pursue another venture away from where he has grown up and lived all his life, and try something new. I don't see anything negative from MSU, his family or vice versa on this. It could be burnout in your current job. That does happen.
