Weekend Cooking & Drinking Thread: Bayou Bound Edition
Me and 6 guys I grew up with have a camp at Grand Isle for the weekend. Packed like the Beverly Hillbillies on my way to the Cajun Bahamas

Outstanding BeastMan! Have great and safe trip. Don't catch 'em all. Leave a few for seed.
-
Love it Beast. Good luck.
For the cooking and drinking: grilled a couple of red snapper fillets. Served it with some boudin, salad and French bread. I didn't get any pics but it turned out damn good. Sipping on some Abita 30+90.

I just loaded up my yak as well, for a quick morning trip. Watching the wind to see where I can launch.
Snacking on some deer sausage and poppers from the grill.

Artie’s for late lunch. Ended up getting on the water by 5. Fished for 2 hours with a 20 mph west wind (maybe more). Caught 2 good reds. 1 is a stud. I’m leading our friendly comp after day 1. Everyone brought a fifth of bourbon b/t $20-30. Winner takes all.

Solid afternoon Beast. Wind was howling here today and actually had a waterspout tear up shaggy’s.
-
It was pretty nasty. I work not too far from there and a siren or warning never went off. Not even a phone alert. 2nd day in a row we’ve had hail after not having rain for about 2 months

Beast - that red might be a monster, but you lose points for the 17n Crocs.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

Haha. Crocs are perfect kayak shoes!
-
Sweet catch! Nothing like fighting a big red on the end of the rod!
-
Nothing was fast and furious but everyone caught fish today. We are currently listening to Brooks and Dunn grilling out under the camp

Filets topped with sheepshead, loaded baked potatoes, garlic/cheese French bread and eagle rare tonight.
Fought some serious wind this morning and caught a few fish, spent several hours at the pool and then came home to cook. Perfect day on the coast.

That's living the dream right there. Damn. I gotta up my game. Did yard work but made it in in time to grill some chicken and watch the dawgs.

I actually took off work one day this past week to spend most of the day working on the yard/house, just so I could enjoy the nice weather this weekend. Glad I did now!
