Eating and Drinking my way around Savannah

Ah, Savannah, Georgia. One of the great cities to spend a few days in for a conference. Work had brought me 60 miles up the coast for the Congress of New Urbanism - a great city planning conference for us bureaucrats.

Started yesterday with dinner at Chive in Broughton Street. Had a terrific Woodford Reserve Manhattan, raw oysters, and a 16 oz ribeye cooked to perfection.

Today, I had a terrific lunch at Green Fire Pizza. A Quattro Carne pizza with Near Wild Heaven Emergecy Drinking Beer

After our plenary session and reception tonight, I finished off the evening with a couple of glasses of Four Roses at the Ordinary Pub on Broughton.

If you have a chance to visit, I highly recommend it.

"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

He’s back. Seriously tough, everything looks outstanding. I’ve been eyeing a GA coast trip for years. Always wanted to go to St Simon

The GA Coast is a great place to live and visit. I don't get to Savannah enough becaise life gets in the way. St. Simons can be great, but it has gotten too overcrowded for my tastes - of course I grew up going there when it was a sleepy little drinking island with a fishing problem that still had a lot of dirt roads. At peak season it is Buckhead South now.

Very nice. It's been a few years since I've been to Savannah, but really enjoyed it.

I get the pleasure of working every now and then in Savannah. The restaurants down in the squares are phenomenal. Even had my picture taken in Chippewa Square at the location of the bench that "Forrest Gump" sat. The one hidden jewel is Tybee Island and it's bars. Great place to visit.

Didn't have anything intersting yesterday, but my Bride drove up from this morning from Brunswick for brunch before a session we were doing about a design project we are working on. Went to The Collins Quarter. Great Bloody Marys. Wife had "My Cousin Beni" - eggs Benedict. I got "Swine Time Beni" - eggs Benedict over pulled pork on a brioche French toast. It was spectacular. Great way to end the week
