Does MSU have an equestrian team?

I saw two schools, Auburn and Georgia I think, competing on the SEC Network a couple of nights ago.

Rocket, it seems like we used to have a rodeo team, back when I was in school in the '70's, but I don't know about equestrian. Hell I didn't even know we had a hockey team until recently.

Yes we do. My niece is on it. They have competed at Auburn and I believe Alabama and Georgia. I kid her because they wear the traditional wardrobe and I thought that they should be wearing maroon helmets with our logo on it. School recognizes them but does not help them much financially much like frisbee golf and rugby. It would be great if you want to donate for travel expenses.

There are a ton of MSU club teams not officially recognized by the NCAA (for MSU at least). Does anyone know if there is a decent list somewhere?

Off the top of my head, there is equestrian, rodeo?, hockey, mens soccer, bass fishing, disc golf (champs!), ultimate frisbee, rugby?.

Yes, my niece is on it. I can tell you that they have been to Auburn twice to compete in matches.

I think it's fantastic that we (MSU) have a team. It's sort of a "sophisticated" sport, it you will. I like the traditional dressing that the young ladies do, and really think that team logos would take away some of that sophistication. Gotta ask ... do they own their own horses, and if so, where to they stable them? Having a horse is a lot of work and requires a lot of time.
