Hell, he actually bans people for offending him... If this was a country, he'd be called a dictator.
Saying "C34 built this place, how can we get rid of him?" is like those FSU fans that didn't want Bowden fired because he practically built FSU. However, as the game had passed Bowden up, so this board has passed C34 up. History does not excuse current reality.
And as for the "He's good for traffic!" Reason to keep him, there's many ways we could increase traffic. Stop banning OM trolls and let them stir the pot. Post porn and become a porn site. We'd never do these things... Why? Because even though they generate traffic, they take away from discussions about State, which is what we are here for.
I don't care if he comes back as a normal poster. His dumb comments aren't ban worthy to me, and some are good info. However, I think he should have 0 power to ban, edit, delete, etc as he's proven he WILL abuse those powers for his ego. And that's what he cares about most, else he wouldn't ban productive State fan posters for challenging him.
I love this post. Bigger isn't always better. I come to this site over others for exactly the reason that it is MSU sports only on the main board with little exception. Once a thread gets over a few pages, I'm out anyway. 34 has made great posts over the years. Whether he's banned or not is up to someone else, but like this poster said, if it's about the clicks, then it's the wrong reason.

I'll vote for C34 as soon as he sends my mfing #RTGDF T-shirt for running the recruiting thread for the last two years...only asked 5 times for it.

Also, you are presuming quite a lot, here. How do you know that he's still banned/not allowed back....rather than being voluntarily absent?
I didn't say that.. C34 left on his own, and it was because the owners took sides with the mod over one of the owners.

I wasn't here all day, and when I got in and checked the board, almost everything was gone. I think there was one thread with a few posts in it ... apparently somebody would start a new one when the old ones got deleted. So I missed all the excitement real time.
Maybe he's not banned but chooses not to post for a number of reasons ... he's embarrassed, he doesn't want to post right now, he's using another name ... could be most anything. If I recall correctly, he didn't post for an entire year or so when he was coaching the high school team, so I suspect he's just choosing not to post right now. But what do I know? I thought he was the only owner until a week or two ago. In fact, I thought "owner" just meant originator, not that somebody actually had to pay a fee to get and keep the board going, and there were other owners who invested.
I don't really care one way or the other as long as the board stays active and doesn't shut down.

And? They're the owners....
Also, why do you think they did that? Also, how are you privy to what decisions the owners may or may not have made?

It's not totally free to start a website. You have to pay for the domain and for servers etc...

There was a random post or two during that time.

Doesn't advertising income cover those expenses? Are the owners trying to make a living off a message board? On second thought, apparently some people make a pretty good living having a YouTube channel, so maybe they do. If they do, doesn't bother me ... just never thought much about it.

Pretty sure they get paid by clicks and from what I understand, unless your getting clicks like Google, you're not making a shit load of $$$. Prob not covering much more than the cost of the site.

I do a couple of personal websites using Network Solutions as a host.....it is not that expensive to do....my two cost me around $400 a year....The software to load pages, pictures, videos, links to other sites, etc. to Network Solutions is free...Core FTP....I spent about a $100 to take two online courses to learn the HTML language..Granted that doesn't include the 'expense' of the software to do the thread responses, dialog back and forth, etc. and I did it at the age of 68 ten years ago.

Amazing the people who come on here to bash C34, the only thing they post about on here is C34. Would love to see what these folks actually think about our SPORTS programs.

No, what's amazing is the amount of BOTH love/hate C34 generates! This thread alone has 95 replies already. That other site, you know the one that has more OT topics like "What are you listening to" or "Does anyone remember Danvers" than MSU threads, had a 150+ thread just on "Mr Coffee" alone. That's 10x their normal MSU threads.

Hard to gauge replies alone, as Preacher has 50% of them simply trying to defending his boyfriend...
I enjoy the site and visit daily, but in my brief time here - this board is bigger than one person. I’m not in the “know” regarding Juan Valdez’s situation, but when Random Poster suddenly morphed into Lamont - I knew something was up then.
Lastly, do we know if John Bond knows Spanish? How are he and Juan going to do their podcast due to the new language barrier, or was that venture already cancelled and I missed it?***
