Two nights in a row, two different ESPN announcers call us Ole Miss...
Holy shit what is the deal? Then they get chubs talking about Kermit, City grocery and the grove. Was surprised they didn?t mention the tailgate chandeliers. I really wish another network would pick up our games. ESPN is terrible on just about all accounts.
-
Something has to be done. What? I don't know but it's ridiculous.
-
Oh well, I'm sure Kermit appreciates the free air time his program got.
-
Confusing them with us is the only way they?ll ever be mentioned in a final four.

Boom.
-
In the heat of the game it doesn’t bother me as much. What pisses me off are graphics and articles that people actually spend time on, have others quality control, and still mess up.
-
Doesn't bother me at all in fact it just shows me how far the rivalry has come. The rivalry is a national brand now. State vs Ole Miss is mentioned as top 5 rivalry all over the country. When the Birmingham, AL newspaper ranks us the #1 football rivalry it's a big deal.

We were blowing Louisville out on their home court so that was more important to me than what some commentator said.

Alabama and Auburn names are different enough that they don't cause confusion. We and Ole Miss have similar names, so the mistake is made. But for a long time, most people didn't know what state Auburn was in.

If you take a quick trip over to Twitter, you?d soon start thinking that most people probably don?t even know which state Mississippi State is in. Twitter confirms daily, that which I feared most about our society.

Careful not to read too many tweets from a bot or you'll start seeing sideways. Twitter is infested with bots tweeting random words jumbled together. I'm not joking. I have to mute bots all the time.

Yeah, it's sad. I wonder what percentage of people even know Mississippi is a state?
Some years ago, New Mexico had to starting putting "New Mexico USA" on their license plates so people would know it's in the US, not Mexico. It's our dumbed down society, and getting worse.

Ha. No, never heard that one. Could you expand on the story?

Showing my age, but I don't think the MState logo helps this situation. Ole Miss started using the upper case M first and then we come along with the M with a banner across it. Bring back the interlocking MSU for Mississippi State University or at least use in some situations. BTW, I have never liked the MState logo ( Class of 77)! Hail State! Hail MSU!

It would look a whole lot better imo.

some outfit that was in charge of getting final 4 hats out to the 4 remaining teams delivered ours and it had Mississippi on it. RW starts getting asked "lack of respect" questions and while answering he pulls out of the hats out and shows the cameras. I think he tossed it on the floor in an angry fashion.
