For any visitors or even MSU folks...

who are going to be in Starkville this weekend and are looking for something to do between games: the three museums on the top floor of the MSU library are really top notch. They will be open Saturday. The Lincoln Collection, the U. S. Grant Presidential Library, and the Templeton Music Museum are really top notch. They are fantastic assets to MSU, Mississippi, and the nation. The one that surprised me the most was the Templeton Music Museum. I made my visit for the other two and went in there in a whim. It was fantastic! The library (for those who don't know including alumni ) is located on the southeast corner of the Drill Field in the center of campus.

The library has actually extended it's museum hours for this weekend. The library itself was supposed to be closed Saturday for SB but has decided to open from 10 to 2 and the museum's are usually closed on Sundays but those will be open from 1 to 5 that day. All this is being done especially for visitors this weekend so I hope people will take advantage. All are great and there is also the John GRISHAM Room on the third floor.

There's also the Clock Museum (I think in the B&N building), and I seem to recall going to a fossil museum at some point, I think in the same building. Did I just imagine that?

Gotta know ... does the Templeton Music Museum have anything to do with Larry Templeton? I'm guessing he or his family made its existenc possible, but I didn't know it existed.

Charles Templeton. I’m sure they are related but don’t let that stop you. It’s awesome.
