Cole Gordon
Not complaining, but just want to know why Cole is our first base coach. I?m sure it has something to do with handy Andy, but didn?t know.

It’s a different player every game I think

Thanks man. Just seen him over there every game.

Can we not add a coach with the loss of Cann? Even if its a Grad Asst. or something? I really hate having random players as a base coach. Really needs to be the same guy every game and hopefully someone who knows what they are doing.

There are no grad assistants anymore. Thanks NCAA.

Doesn't bother me, I honestly don't think it's a big deal as a runner is usually watching the ball and it's all judgement. 3rd base is different.

Have you seen how many baserunning blunders we make? May not make a difference having a competent base coach but we need some kind of assistance.

It's baseball, judgements all the time, go/stay, bunt/don't bunt, swing/don't swing, leave him in/take him out........
Baseball is such a complicated game, LOL.

Most baserunning mistakes are made by the player himself not the coach. If I have to explain it to you then....
Then add the blame people give to a player when the coach does actually get him thrown out. Most on here have no clue who is responsible for what. And I say most, not all.

1st base coaches do next to nothing at the high school level of baseball and up.
ETA: hence why we've let our players coach first going back to at least last year.

Add..... Add......Add......Back! Get Down!

Mangum to 1st base coach**
-
Doesn’t matter as long as he pays attention on a back pic with the 1st baseman back...or a throw behind by an OF...or reminding to tag in certain situations on fly balls...or...
-
I’d rather see him coach 1st than pitch. We have too many good pitchers to watch Cole.
Sorry.

You do realize he has been really good this year?

Are we just a coach short or did we hire someone to replace Cann?

Well I think we added fitts to the field for the year. But still wouldn't have a first base coach.

I thought it was AJ Guara that we promoted to the volunteer assistant spot or whatever his name is? Really doesn't matter either way. We're going to be a coach down no matter what.

17 Ks in 12.2 ip. Opponents only hitting .050 vs him. The bad is he has an amazing 11 BBs in the 12.2 ip.
