    Top 4 teams in the Top 3 conferences the last three years and conference RPI

    2017 - 12/12
    ACC Top 8 (.5802)
    Big 12 - Top 6 (.5779)
    Big East - Top 7 (.5676

    2016 - 12/12
    Big 12 - Top 7 (.5843)
    ACC - Top 10 (.5762)
    Pac 12 - Top 7 (.5704)

    2015 - 12/12
    Big 12 - Top 7 (.5791)
    ACC - Top 7 (.5683)
    Big East - Top 6 (.5650)

    The year that South Carolina finished third in the league and got left out, the SEC was the sixth rated conference and SC had an RPI of 73.

    Not only have top 4 teams in top 3 conferences always gotten a bid, top 6 teams in top 3 conferences have always gotten a bid. The Big 12 only got the top 6 in last year (remember they only have 10 teams).

    This year, the SEC's RPI is .5812! That would have been first in '15, second in '16 and first in '17. Traditionally, 70% of teams in a conference with an RPI at .5812 get a bid. In a 14 team league, that's 10 teams!!!!!
