Win Tuesday and we are in the dance

Don't listen to the talking heads. Win Tuesday and we are in. We pass the eye test and have finished the season as strong as anyone in the country. This will overcome the RPI deficit if we lose @LSU.

Just saw on some game we have 21% chance, which I don't understand at all.

Who knows what some committee will do, but it is obvious that MSU should be in the field. The way Howland has these guys playing, they may just win the SEC tournament and put the issue to rest a little early.

Our OCS is killing us. We need three more wins....and one has to be UT. That game is the biggest game we have played in years.

Win both and 1 in SECT just to be sure. Watch us do that and still have to play in the first four game. I am convinced the committee will try to **** us any way possible.

RPI up to 56. A win tuesday will boost that big time. What's frustrating is, had we not gotten robbed @ Mizzou and Vandy, we would have won 9 straight games I believe.

Isn't the goal of the committee to get the top 68 teams in the country? If so, how can you say State isn't one of the top 68 teams?

I don't get the love for Ark rather than us. Ok they had a better ooc schedule. In conference record is not as good.

this team now is totally different from the beginning of the season. typical for a young team. There are not 20 teams playing better than us right now. those are the facts. we are playing like a top 20 team at this time. The retardation of the selection process is amazing. had we traveled earlier in the year to Duke and Kansas and gotten our asses handed to us we would be in without question right now. which is retarded.

I can MAYBE see Arkansas (even though we beat them), but Bama is what frustrates me. They are about to lose 3 straight and be 17-12, 8-8. Yet, somehow they are a lock. They aren't that good

And, by the way, slight hijack, but Sexton is overrated.

I disagree. Let's say we win Tuesday, then lose to LSU, then lose in the first round of the SEC tourney. Then have some teams around the country get an automatic berth by winning their conference tournaments that otherwise would not have gotten in. Then we are in trouble.

Yep and we would be just playing for higher seed right now.

Yeah if we lose one of the next two games, we gotta at least get the semis, if not the championship.

You are forgetting about all the automatic bids.

You answered your own question. It's the OOC schedule we played.

Let's say 11-18 Vandy or 11-18 Georgia Tech wins their conference tourney. Then they take the place of a deserving team in the NCAA tournament.

Automatic bids are technically part of that top 68. Sure some teams get lucky but most of the conference champions were already going anyway.

Yes and sometimes conference winners aren't a top 68 team. Like the winner of the SWAC sometimes still isn't a top 68 team. It's more like the top 60 teams that make it. There's probably about 8 teams every year that couldn't beat the top 8 teams in the NIT.
