    Wainwright Field

    Since I know we have a few Cards fans on here - thought I would share a great pic of Brunswick?s version of the new Dude - Wainwright Field. Adam Wainwright graduated from Glynn Academy in 2000, and tonight he threw out the first pitch at the field named in his honor. Adam purchased land next to our middle school and donated it and some funds for a new sports complex. It includes softball and baseball fields for Glynn Academy and indoor practice facility, and football/soccer field for the middle school with a track. Huge SRO crowd tonight.

    I love Wainwright though. One of the best curveballs I have ever seen in my life.

    I went to his last home game in high school - talk about an intimidating kid on the mound. His fastball was very good for HS - but not the fastest I?d seen or even faced myself. But, lord, that Charlie just devestated kids at the plate. Every kid that struck out looked like they wanted to cry when that knee buckler bent across the plate. Throw in the fact that he was 6?6? or so and it was just scary.
