Good deal, why aren't we interested? Already met our needs there?

He's just not on the level as the other kids we've gotten or are recruiting. Really good player though.

So what about OL and LB? Seems that's some of our thinnest positions going into next year. I know we have guys on the board, but how are we looking with them?

Here's a fun number. Our total points on 24/7 are already higher than last years total points. We have 16 commits now. Had 23 last year.

It's a combination of things. One is that this is a great Mississippi class. If Mullen was still our coach, he would have recruited better than his normal class. Two is Ole Miss and probation/losing. We are benefitting from that. And the obvious third reason is that this staff is just doing a great job. They are good recruiters, likable people for both the kids and the parents, and excellent teachers of the game. And Moorhead understands the importance of it and they emphasize it. I love this staff. I had never heard of Joe Moorhead, but the more I see, the more I think Cohen made a grand slam home run of a hire. I've been impressed by how many assistant coaches want to hitch their wagon to the Moorhead train.

What's the news on Derrick Hall the LB from Gulfport? I haven't seen him mentioned any but he's a big 4 star.

Are Hall's grades not questionable? Feel like I saw that posted at some point.

Well that's good to hear. Sorry for saying otherwise. Hopefully he will decide to become a bulldog.

It looks like we have 8 maybe 9 spots to fill. Here is my guess how we finish. Thoughts?

    RB John Emery 4*
    WR Jonathan Mingo 4*
    DB Ishmael Burdine 4*
    DE Byron Young 4*
    DL Patrick Lucas 3*
    LB Derik Hall 4*
    OT Charles Cross 3*
    OT JaQuay Hubbard 3*

    JMO

I'm hopeful but not confident on Mingo. Especially if he decides pretty soon. We're not taking 2 more DL. That last spot is reserved for Byron Young. Martin Emerson will be in this class.

Of the MS kids, I think Mingo is the most doubtful. Cross is iffy too, but not as bad as Mingo.

I see a lot of people saying we get Ishmael Burdine. Are we that confident in him? I thought he was Mizzou bound

    Hubbard
    Emery
    Emerson
    Hall
Cross / Sharpe ( don?t think we take both )
    Young
    Very solid 6

Turnage , Mingo, Black. Dean , Jones will have a spot if they decide
I think we only sign 5 OL ( 3 commited now)

We will prob have one or 2 guys commited now that won?t be in the class . Wether it?s decomitt or processed

OK...I would have thought Emerson would have committed by now if he was going to. My thought on Lucas was that we don't have an interior lineman commit and we are going to be fairly thin at that position after this season. Seeing what our staff was able to do to get Jackson in the boat gives me confidence that we can land Mingo.
