    Clemson

Clemson DT Christian Wilkins who was slated in the latest mock draft to go 22nd overall, has decided to return to school.

Incredible how some programs get players to do that.

I'm extremely excited about Sweat returning, but how are these schools getting players that have 1st round grades to return to school?

This would be similar to Simmons next year deciding to return.

Additionally, it would be interesting to compare Wilkins to Simmons.

I just wish we could get some guys to do it in baseball. It seems like the more experienced team wins in Omaha a lot of the time.

What LSU did last year was rare. That said, we had a chance to do some of that last year from the 2016 team but the players have to be committed, and let's just say that group was, uh....not

Exactly. We have juniors in baseball drafted in the 26th round leaving for peanuts and then talking about how much they loved MSU.

UHHHH ever heard of the senior discount?? Its common knowledge to take the money before you get drafted next year in the 24th and get nothing.

Loving MSU and getting the most out of your signing bonus ability aren't mutually exclusive. You have absolutely zero leverage in your argument unless you turn your 750th-780th stock into a top 30 pick and even then you probably wont get the slotted amount because once again you have no leverage.

Simmons will be a top 10 pick next year. If not higher

Those really good parent jobs end when a player leaves college.

First rounders are getting 12 mil guaranteed.

No school is paying a player or his family anywhere near that.

Unless the kid’s family is rich or he just doesn’t care about money at all, it is an incredibly stupid decision to go back to school if he really is projected as a first rounder.

If that is the case, why even ask for a grade? If 1st is not good enough to leave, no reason to ask

There is a thread on one of the Game cock message board talking about why Clemson seems to get guys to come back. If I was 22 I would go. There is no tomorrow. Hell I might die, I might break my leg, you never know. You need to make hay while the sun is sinning.
