Sunday Morning PG- Another SEC Loss Edition

    1. Auburn is very good and one of the SEC's best teams. On the other hand- we are not one of the SEC's top 8 teams in talent nor will we finish in the top 8.

    2. Holman has good hands and does shoot the ball well from 3. But I just cant stand to watch someone thats 6'10 be such a *****. With his quickness and length he should be a force in the paint and he just simply isnt. It's not in his DNA. Soft as GrandMomma's titties. Case in point- Q was driving to basket in the 2nd the half and expected Holman to be breaking down the baseline to get a pass from him and attack the rack. But what does Holman do? He slips back behind the 3-pt line and Q passes it down the baseline to a ghost and out of bounds. Holman you are not 6'4- you are a 6'10 grown man. Attack the ****ing rim. He has some decent post moves when he goes in there- he just refuses to do it very often.

    3. Adu has some balls, he just needs to learn basketball and some offensive moves.

    4. We play our best basketball with Peters and Lil Spoon on the floor at the same time. Howland, I know Peters had Moultrie Knee and did his time. Stop playing Little Greg ahead of him and wasting game minutes. Carter is a role player right now in his career and may always be. He is not an SEC starter. Peters will turn the ball over some- but the offense just flows better with him in the game- not to mention one of his turnovers was on Ado. Let our best PG get out there and do his thing from the opening tap.

    5. Speaking of- we were 11/31 from Carter, Q, and Lil Spoon with a robust 3/15 from 3. Want to know why we arent winning? There is a big part of your answer.

    6. Yes X-Man has a bad attitude. I would too if I didnt get the minutes I should. He plays aggressive and aggressiveness is what this team needs badlyyyyyy. Stop wasting minutes with Wright (he wont be here next year anyway) and rotate X-Man between the 3 and 4.

    7. Terrible job by Howland adjusting in the 2nd half. They kept running the same damn play to get open 3's and they kept draining them. Hedging on the screens up top wasnt working as they kept kicking to the wing for open 3's because we had to sag and help the hedge. Why not trap the ball screen and force them to make a harder pass? Why keep playing it the same way and letting them wear it out? Just awful.

    8. We got on a run to cut it to 2- so what do we do on our next 3 possessions? Q with a rushed 3 point attempt, Lil Spoon getting swatted in the lane because he is off-balance and couldnt jump, and then a Peters turnover. That ended that comeback. Got to have something we can go to in those situations to get a basket- and this team simply doesn't at crunch time.

    9. Terrible offensive fouls by Peters and Holman. Very blatant

    10. 1-3 in the SEC with a 3 game losing streak. Need to change up something. Keep doing the same ol shit and we will be 1-8 in the SEC before long.

I was a hardass on Ado earlier but i have to give him credit he has been the best player the last week. He has gotten better at putting the ball up and he has really cut down on his turnovers. His shooting % has been very high and I wish he could get the ball more. Hope he continues to get better as the year goes on.

Agree on everything but X. He too is in love with the 3 ball. Carter needs to hit the weight room.

We are soft. No physical toughness. No mental toughness.

5 of 23 from 3 for the game which included 2 of 10 in the second half. I think I see a bad pattern here.

That bad pattern has been the norm almost every game this year. Over 50% of FGA are 3pt. We are only making 25-30% of them. Not going to win alot of games that way.

You are correct Sir. These young dawgs refuse to learn any new tricks and until they do, we will see more of the same results.

I've never agreed more with a Coach 34 basketball post than I do with this one. 2 and 4 are particularly spot on.

Yeah Peters and Nick Weatherspoon need to start together with Q as the third guard. Howland did this thing last year where he started Carter for the preseason schedule but had him come off the bench once SEC season started and it worked out a lot better. Carter is better coming off the bench and being a spark scorer. Right now role player fits him better. We don’t need a new coach but we do need leaders to develop. It sucks Q, Holman, and Stapleton haven’t developed these qualities but it is what it is. We will have to have Nick W and Ado step up and lead. For instance, how do you follow the gameplan to perfection then do your own thing in the second half. Have to have players hold each other accountable. Only so much a head coach can do without player leadership. You talk about how great Stans was but in order to have a successful season you need your players to step up and lead.
