If Saban had stayed at LSU, they would have been what Bama currently is...

He won his first NC there and Miles won another with his talent. If Lil Nicky had stayed put in BR, he most likely have as many NC?s as he does now. That has got to be eating the LSU faithful inside something bad. Not only to think what might have been, but to see your division rival banging the chick you used to have.

Yep, no doubt. They probably would have been even better. LSU has the built in advantage that every kid in Louisiana (a state at LEAST as talent rich as Alabama) wants to play there and will almost automatically sign with them if they recruit him. There is no instate competition like Auburn to pick off more than a few you want.

You have to wonder if Saban learned something from his time at Miami. He has certainly been even better at Bama than he was at either Michigan St or LSU. He recruited very similar at LSU but at Bama he had one bad year to begin with and then it was to a National Title level. I don't think Bama is set up that much better than LSU so it leads me to believe that his time at Miami improved his coaching ability in some kind of way.

Bama has far more resources in football than Lsu. At Bama it’s all about football and the other sports are minor to many.

Bama is the #1 football program in the country, when u win 5 of the last 9 it ain’t even close.

None of this was true before Saban got there. When Saban was at LSU and even for a little while with Miles at LSU, LSU and Bama were close to even. If Saban went to Michigan or Penn St or USC or Texas, that team would start competing for National Titles. The state of Louisiana is all about LSU. Bama does have to contend with Auburn. The state isn't as dominated by one school. In Louisiana, everyone is a LSU fan regardless of what university you went to. It might change if you played for La Tech or Tulane but the normal fans are all about LSU in football.

Before Saban their previous was 1992* and 1979. So since Princeton has 10 National Titles does that put them on par with Bama? Bama is a blue blood from winning in the past, they are dominant now because Saban is possibly the best coach in the history of college football. Bama doesn't have any built in advantages over any of the other blue bloods. The only difference is Saban.

Did anyone see the pictures on Twitter of Saban at Miami and a current pic at Bama and the guy tweeted that Saban is the only guy that looked older 11 years ago than he does now. He really did look older then.

Of course they would be the same, or better. He won a title there WITHOUT his reputation. Once he got to Alabama recruiting was on auto-pilot because of his name alone. He had to earn it at LSU.

It is possible that he learned some good lessons in the NFL that helped him grow as a coach. Either way he was going to win big in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Saban yes, wake me up when the era is over. Bear Bryant and Nick Saban are the two greatest college coaches in America. Alabama is known to be great in football, and you want me to put Princeton in the elite? LOL.

I sure as hell can't think if any other football program to compare with what the Bama history says.

Miami had almost as good a run as Bama is on now in the modern era, 4 National Titles in 9 years. Of course if you want to go by wins then Bama is 7th right in front of Oklahoma. Again, Bama isn't some special place that is better than the rest. Saban would be doing the exact same thing at Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio St, or Penn St.
